I so appreciate you talking about your weight loss. As a metal-head/witch/Goth it is so hard to identify with some sunny-side sporty women. Also as a 34 year old woman who wants to have a baby in the next 3 years, it's nice to listen to someone else who lost weight to get pregnant brings me inspiration 🖤⭐🖤

Least ‘Goth’ name and profile pic ever! My most played on Spotify are currently Pantera and Taylor Swift. We’re all just people who are fundamentally the same. Interests are fine but largely irrelevant and no one is objectively ‘cooler’ than another. Music and fashion tastes are fun but our values and actions are what’s important.

🤍 I am 105 lbs down, and have gone from 3x/22-24 to XL/16. I still see myself larger, and veer to that size when shopping for clothes.

Your opinions about self hate due to obesity made me cry because it was like you were talking about me. I have struggled with weight my whole life. I got a gastric lapband which made me lose 30 KGs. I gained it all back due to some health issues. Since then, my weight kept fluctuating. It finally clicked that it was because of my self hate. Another reason was as negative videos on weight loss I was watching. I finally started to love myself enough to lose weight for me and be kind to myself. I managed to lose 11 KGs and I am still in my journey. Thank you for your videos. You have no idea how much they helped me and how much they gave me hope. ❤❤❤

I remember people telling me to go to a more upscale bra/lingerie store after 85 lbs. I think it made a world of difference! I’m willing to spend the money for it now. I’m also 62 so I was going to have problems anyway. I love your “there’s no wagon” to fall off of in this video. You’re so inspiring! I’m not in love with my flabby skin either but you’re right. I’m better in every way than I was before.

I'm going to have to go to a more upscale store to get a bra. Although I have to say I love the pennys one I'm wearing all the time, but I'm sure its not the right size. 😂

HeyCarla, I think that focusing on portion control has been the difference in my success this time, although I’m only halfway to my goal weight. But, I agree about your taste buds changing. Although I had been avoiding fast food awhile before I started on this weight loss journey, the idea of a burger from McDonald’s makes me ill. But, my issue is my age. I’m 64 and my metabolism hasn’t just slowed down, I think it’s died! I love to walk, but can’t do it as far and often as I’d like, due to serious back issues. But, I eat as well as I can, and get off my butt as often as I can, and I’m slowly getting there. Thanks for your honesty!

@bevalexander5897
@bevalexander5897 2 жыл бұрын
@@merrillcrist5702 I can usually. It’s just that my back goes into bad spasms if I’m not really careful. To be honest, I never thought about chair exercises. It’s official. I’m old.😄

@@bevalexander5897 I started with seated exercise when I was too heavy to do standing exercise for more than 10 mins. There are many spirited chair exercise videos out there. I am now doing 4-5 mile standing in home walking (Leslie Sansone). I'm 70, so I hear you about being older. I began with Sit and Be Fit on public TV, advanced to Stronger Seniirs with Anne Pringle Burnell, and increased my endurance and miles +mph with Leslie Sansone. Best wishes for success!

Something else that might help is Essentics with Miranda Esmonde White. Her strength and mobility workouts can be challenging initially. The pay offs are rapid and were/are well worth the effort for me. Her stuff is about opening the joint space through mindful and purposeful stretching so that range of motion is increased and pain is decreased/eliminated. Plus, she is a hoot.

❤ I recently found your channel. I appreciate your sharing. I have so much respect for you to not show up half dressed, not discuss things you feel are too personal and not curse excessively. The mental health aspects have been very interesting and actually have stirred something up for me. Not sure what, but it is there. I don't have an extreme amount to lose but do want to take off some have put on. I think the mental bit is the part that had been missing in my plans and wanted to say thank you for that.

🤍Thanks for doing these, so inspirational and motivating. I am 58 and have yoyo'd for over 40 years, as much as 40lbs a year. So agree it's really important to find the cause or you get to my age and realise you have been a slave to food and dieting for decades. Combined with the relentless negative self-thoughts and debilitating body image and ugliness that consumes your mind all the time. I am sure my issue is a cycle of turning to alcohol to feel more confident which in turn leads to overeating and the associated weight gain which compounds the negative thoughts. I am back on the mend now and doing well but I thought I would share this to highlight Carla's message of getting to the cause as the most important step. Thanks again Carla, you are incredible.

🤍🤍🤍Carla, it has taken me years to get where I am mentally. I absolutely affirm mental work as a key. I am now down from 480+ to ~400ish. It is now evident to me that I need a better therapist, and have an appointment set, in order to rewire my brain 🧠 from using food as a comfort. We need to sing the normality of mental health work.

Another big price to pay about weight loss is that you look 15 years younger in the video from when you were overweight. As for the loose skin, a lot of people simply can't afford to undergo expensive removal surgery in America, so perhaps you shouldn't just brush it off easily.
