So thrilled to have a new Fall of Civilizations podcast...and 7 hours, at that! We all seem to have our own ways of enjoying these wonderful shows. Like many others, I frequently do fall asleep to them. (Paul Cooper just has that voice. Other options that work for me are David Attenborough and his nature documentaries and the World Science Festival - although it can occasionally be a little rowdy). That doesn't mean I'm not appreciating the content. I make sure to see each episode in it's entirety by rewatching them frequently. After several years I feel like I have some of them memorized at this point! For those of us who love history AND have trouble drifting off to sleep, Paul Cooper and Fall of Civilizations are a godsend. Thank you for what you put out into the world. Someone here mentioned Cooper did an AMA in which he said he had only a few more to go, as he was running out of civs to describe. I just hope he gets to Western Rome and the British Empire. While overdone, his take on those civs will have value (you can't really have a podcast called "Fall of Civilizations" without including Rome, one hopes).
@Ryan.G.Spalding6 күн бұрын
@ I guess you are right. I thought they had Rome, but the Byzantine one kind of missed the first part. I have watched many things about it but I don’t really know how it happened. Not in the detail he goes into. Maybe there isn’t Information? But that seems hard to believe. Like how did they keep the border where they did to keep going with the eastern stuff? Or how did the Greek City States fall and turn into Rome? I think he could keep going forever just getting more niché. I would also love a summary episode of commonalities among all of them. Fall of Humanity. Haha
