It's so funny that anytime someone is being silly or just having fun, a person has to come along and say they are high... So people can't have fun without being high? OK. Jimmy always acts over the top like that and likes to exaggerate his laugh etc. Taylor seems totally fine. That would be so unprofessional show up high to an interview especially if you work there.

BellaLove by the way jimmy doesn't act over the top so that was the reason i thought he was high and look at taylor's eyes they are all watery and empty so that makes him drunk do you understand now bella love people can be silly without weed but with weed they go up to 11 like these guys

OMG he's so hot as Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights and so cute on The Grand Seduction... that poor boy got lied to... my heart went out to him... so innocent... sigh... And Battleship, him in uniform... umph! Taylor is more profound than I thought. When he refused to do a reboot for FNL and his reason is because the Season 5 finale was perfect the way they left it, it showed he didn't fall for money or the thrill etc. Also, when interviewers mention his good looks, he will just brush it off and want to talk about the work instead. He is someone who has a lot of integrity. I have new found respect for him.
@PuckerUp100
@PuckerUp100 8 жыл бұрын
You are right about him not having an air about his looks. This is an excerpt from an interview he did with Vanity Fair: VF: Has there ever been something you've resisted doing on the show? Taylor: Yeah. They want me shirtless a lot of the time and I battle tooth and nail against that. When it's called for, it's O.K. But I don't need to be driving shirtless. Are we doing a fucking calendar shoot, or are we actually doing Tim Riggins driving? I believe I'm 100 percent right in this regard: less is more. I don't want to be known as that cat, you know? Just that guy on the show that's always shirtless. I've seen some interviews where he mocks his own shirtless scenes, like why is he the only one who is shirtless and out of the blue doing push-ups in Coach Taylor's house with women gawking at him... I think those moments made him feel cheap and used lol... We can't help it though, can we? Riggins is really, quoting Riggins (when he sarcastically asked the new coach), "a thing of a beauty!" The intensity in his stares, his long hair, chiseled good looks, his voice, those close-ups... god... those close-ups... left a lot to be desired...

Oh, the guy is just so awesome. Talented, down to earth, intelligent, warm and funny. And his gifts as an actor grow with every single part he plays. Check him out in The Bang Bang Club. His performance will tear you to shreds, simply because he lets you get to know his character as a person first before you realise that Kevin Carter had a drug problem. Bang Bang is a must-see - right up there with Hotel Rwanda. Imperative viewing, and not just for Taylor's brilliance in it.

I believed in the bad reviews for John Carter so I didn't watch the movie when it came out. I stumbled upon it last year and thought I'd give it a go and WHAT?! I was very surprised it is SO GOOD! I was really entertained by it! After that, I watched the Grand Seduction, another movie of Taylor's that is so underrated and, again, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Laughed so hard! What is happening with these critics?! Their reviews are so unreliable!!

CRITICS TO TRUE DETECTIVE AND TO KITCH AS WELL, A LETTER TO THE EDITOR LOS ANGELES TIMES (published few weeks ago). I do not agree at all that True Detective II was a bad show or it was boring or a mess, it is a very well achieved "film noire", which still delights us in many ways. The actors, starting by the exceptional Collin Farrell, has an outstanding performance, likewise, Miss. Mc Adams and the real fantastic Taylor Kitsch, even Vince Vaughn is quite convincing in his role of a businessman with quite dark interests in drugs, diamonds, coming from Mexico,and even from a Russian mob, no doubt that he was all right. For many other reasons, I find outrageous some critics, which finds its origin on all kind of prejudices against the show, and more specifically against some actors. It is obvious that "the commentators” cannot compare apples with oranges, such is the case of many comments in many papers and Television shows, which in my humble opinion are totally mistaken. Most of these judgements were based on pure envy, idiotic judgements coming from a bunch of dicks. Everything was different from True Detective One, we didn't have the same place, the first one, has been shot in New Orléans and the last one in Los Angeles. Secondly the script, witten once again by Pizzolato, was indeed quite different, by the same writer, who did a great job, it has been written in an excellent manner, based in well known true facts, which were going on near LA. But what pisses me off, is who had received more unfair and idiotic critics and even personal attacks, is without any doubt Taylor Kitsch, Kitsch is a 34 years old and very smart actor, a guy who is, as the French call guys like him a true “charmeur” (in English a charming guy) who had shown us, his acting skills first in the quite touching and emotive "Friday Night Lights", he performed wonderfully the role of Tim Riggings, with a very little experience on television or cinema at the time, this was his first experience with Pete Berg, in spite that I saw it years later, I enjoyed this great show so human and natural a lot. “Battleship” (Peter Berg), was another good film, especially the way that he represented his character. "Normal Heart" he shared roles with Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, the marvelous and still gorgeous Julia Roberts, another film, which was a true and real drama of the 1980's, Kitsch was great as well, With the three-times Oscar®-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone brings to life this ferocious “Savages”, in which Kitsch demonstrates that he is able to perform successfully lots of characters, no matter how difficult they could be. Again Pete Berg was responsible for "Sole Survivor"; Kitsch (Lt. Michael Murphy RIP) was accompanied by formidable actors as Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, the British Eric Bana and Mark Wahlberg in a fantastic role of Marcus Lutthrell, the lone survivor, and a true and incredible American hero. Kitsch portrayed Michael Murphy, for his comrades of the Navy Seals, just “Murph” with truthfulness and lots of respect, well deserved. In spite of the fact, that most of the film showed only the war in the mountains of South Eastern Afghanistan, it has lots of humanity mixed with the tragedy of a tremendous ambush, in which perished Murph and the rest of the "navy seales", and only Marcus Lutthrell was able to survive. Kitsch did a great job in this movie, a short one but excellent indeed. Last but not least, there is a stereotype, if an actor or actress is good looking, for some envious and “small people”, these actors should be a disaster. Well Kitsch, no doubt that he isn't at all, and he certainly is and will be one of the best actors of Hollywood’s new generation. I can apply the same thought, regarding Miss Mc Adams who is brilliant and a very natural actress. I am sure that most viewers don't follow these horrendous critics, the show was a success, and I hope that some of the actors will be summoned up for the III "True Detective", they deserve it by far.

I feel a little bad for this guy. He was supposed to be the next big star than starred in one of the biggest bombs of all time and now he's in the season of true detective that's going to kill the series. Not really his fault just bad luck.

decimus81 Not saying he's a bad actor just saying he's starred in some bad projects. While you may feel TD season 2 is good it's generally been panned as having a convoluted uninteresting plot and some poor casting decisions (Vince Vaughan). Season 1 was a perfect storm of casting, writing and directing. Season 2 undeniably did not have all of those elements working for it. Fact.

Next time those who are so critic regrading Kitsch's work on True Detective like in other films or shows, you must offer your services and write the script, if Taylor Kitsch was included, you can be sure that there is a good reason to have him in the show. With your idea, that his character doesn't serve any purpose to the story, Count Leo Tolstoy in "War and Peace", who had at least 45 characters well described, shouldn't write his magnificent novel. You are placing yourself in the writer's mind, which is absurd. Each writer knows well, why certain character has a role in his or hers script or story. So my advice to you, write your own script regarding "True Detective" and then you may offer your "creation" to the filmmakers. During the Moscow Art Theatre's early years, Stanislavski worked on providing a guiding structure for actors to consistently achieve deep, meaningful and disciplined performances. He believed that actors needed to inhabit authentic emotion while on stage and, to do so, they could draw upon feelings they'd experienced in their own lives. Stanislavski also developed exercises that encouraged actors to explore character motivations, giving performances depth and an unassuming naturalism while still paying attention to the parameters of the production. This technique would come to be known as the "Stanislavski method" or "the Method." As you may know, the Stanislavsky method was applied by “Actors Studio” in NYC, and most good actors are still following Stanislavsky’s method. Well Taylor Kitsch in most of his films, it seems to me that he had followed this method, and was pretty successful in the characters that he represented.
