Ted is more of a homebody that only goes out because of his friends and the series of crazy dates he goes on. Jimmy is literally Ted. Especially if you watch the Nicole Kidman interviews. Justin is the reason Jimmy does things like go out to bars or go to concerts. So he's basically the Barney. If you watch enough Jimmy and Justin interviews you'll see that.
