This is completely untrue. Ah the famous myth of meritocracy... You'd have to be pretty naive to still believe in that. There are plenty of people who get up early every day, work hard and never make it. Some of the artists you see are just a tiny fraction of them, Yseult would have deserved to be known 10 years ago, she just finally got the chance she deserved. She herself is aware of this, especially in France, where it's not easy for artists like her. The meritocratic myth is nothing more than the good conscience of the winners.

Luck without talent can get you somewhere (nepo babies), but having a huge talent without having any luck at some point will take you NOWHERE. Yseult's "luck" was to be picked for the Olympics, or recently featuring on a song that went viral on tik tok. I'm so happy for her that finally thanks to these two events she's getting known worldwide !
