I do love these AI videos but I'm praying you don't burn out before finishing the NV one. You inspired me to start my own AI playthrough of kotor, ChatGPT decided to be a male scout named Kaelan Strider with some pretty cursed stat distribution and it took me so much explaining to get it to assign the attribute points properly lol, I also tried getting it to give me some league of legends build suggestions but I had to provide it with stat lists ripped from the wiki because it's training data is from 2019 so everything is out of date. They were also slightly cursed.

Hearing you struggle with the game makes this way funnier than it should be. Sure, Six is a bit of a psychopath, but at least you could handle yourself in New Vegas. T-Rex, meanwhile, is hell-bent on pushing you towards stuff that just gets you killed. Glorious.

Oh, it's nice to see someone new getting to know first fallout. It's kinda extremely reliant on skill checks, just like all classic RPG's based on different systems. Fallout system is an evolution from Gurps, there are a couple mods out there for a bit higher resolution remade textures, doesn't effect gameplay but for someone new might improve on overall experience, there are ones that don't change the artistic style of Fallout 1 and 2 at all. Just make stuff more distinguishable. Also, I don't remember whether it is a feature of first Fallout, but there might be a button that highlights interactable objects (at least things you can pick up), which is useful due to isometric nature of the game. For the destroyed vault however I recommend you to look around Shady Sands further, there are tiles which make it possible for you to go into the second part of town. There actually are several ways to solve the descend problem, so ask AI how he wants to approach it. Maybe there is someone you can barter or steal from? Maybe you can just walk over and pick up whatever you need. Maybe AI decides to approach that quest in a different manner and ask around about nearby settlements. It would be actually fun to see how someone approaches quests in first Fallout as the first experience with the AI. Oh, also, as an option: you always have a choice to report back to the vault once you went through the rat caves to report in, you are on a mission after all, so reporting major hinderences to it is an option. Can ask for advice or something else back home (after you exited the rat cave for the first time, however). Vault 13 is your home, everyone expects you to come back or report in if needed to. Saying this, since is not explicitly stated while you first exit.

I was hoping you'd do the other fallout games, going back to the very first game seems a bit like a weird choice especially since you seem to not be super familiar with it, but I'm glad you are cuz it's a great game and honestly even if what's effectively your first time playthrough is a bit unorthodox I hope it's an unforgettable experience for you.

If you right click your weapon, you can change melee modes, and aim at body parts (the grandfather to VATS). Try shooting enemies in the eyes, head, and groin for critical hits that will cause them to lose turns and accuracy. If you cripple their legs, they will have trouble chasing you, so you can kite enemies that don't have ranged attacks. Unfortunately, you cannot disarm people of their weapons, but I believe crippling their arms will also cause them to lose accuracy. EDIT: You can also open your inventory while in combat, but it costs 4AP. You can use unlimited stims while in the inventory screen, however. This should keep you alive longer in combat

Sure. You weren't playing bad. But you might want to get T. Rex to read a gamefaq on Fallout before he picks his stats. This game is brutally unforgiving and you can ruin your playthrough before it even starts in the character creation screen. There ain't nothing fun about shooting something 2 feet in front of you that's as big as a truck and missing over and over again. Picking a "well rounded" character isn't a great idea, and topping it off with the perk that lowers accuracy and increases fire rate just makes sure you bleed more limited ammo while missing every shot. They dialed down the difficulty on Fallout 3 and beyond by about 1000% and it would be hard for you not to be able to beat the later games with even the worst combination of Special and Skill point allocations. OG Fallout doesn't F around though.

Pretty cool to see the difficulty of this game. Looks like being a fast draw is not a good way to go. Steady and accurate seems to be a better option. The AI needs to learn the game as well! MEGA!
@thedude5295 Жыл бұрын
AI needs to read a gamefaq, just like any human being picking up the game today that wasn't a 12 year old with all the time in the world to figure it out would. Those starting stats and perks killed this run before it even began. 90's games didn't mess around with the difficulty, and Fallout just took that to another level back then. I just played this for the first time about 4 years ago, and I don't think I've ever saved my progress so much in any other game before it. I was literally saving after every kill. Not every battle... Every kill.

Until now you approach the game in exactly the right way. I don't want to spoil anything but you are on the right track. The game teaches the player everything and until now you missed no clue. Why didn't you ask the AI about combat? Just "I'm gonna shoot the rats". Why not ask the AI what weapon to use? Use up all your bullets on rats and you didn't even ask the AI. This is really just you playing Fallout, but occasionally asking the AI for help making decision sometimes. Then you just ask a "primary cardinal direction" and you don't even remember which way he told you the vault you were told to go to is located? Vault 15 is east. So you tell the AI the vault is west. So the AI says go west. But then you go east anyway. I'm assuming you don't know east from west on a map. Then you just decide to go back out into the wasteland to search for a rope. Why not ask the AI what to do? Why not ask the AI if it wants to search the vault for a rope? This is so bad.
