I'm not sure if you picked up on it but bottle caps are used as the main currency in the Fallout universe. The technology to manufacture bottle caps and paint their surfaces had been mostly lost in the Great War, which limited any counterfeiting efforts. Anytime a character in the show uses a drug, it's an actual aid or drug item used in the game. (like Stimpaks that heals health) Vault 33's water chip breaking is a reference to the very first Fallout game. Vault 13's water chip breaks and the player has 144 days to find a replacement.

A lot of the foods appear in the gametoo. Blamco Mac and Cheese, Cram, YumYum Devilled Eggs, Sugar Bombs - all pre-War foods that appear in the Fallout Games.
@AlfwinАй бұрын
There was even more to using bottle caps as currency at first. The currency of caps was backed by the water-merchants of The Hub, who controlled the largest supply of water in California. Each bottle cap could be exchanged for, and thus represented the value of, one bottle of water. But over time, it seems to have become a fiat money.

The Ghoul’s rule of “don’t get sidetracked” is hilarious because it literally goes against everything that makes the Fallout games great. Getting lost in so many side quests that by the time you get back to the main story, you’re OP a hell! 🤣🤣 Love your outfit in this reaction 🔥

Alot of the creatures in Fallout are just mutated animals, but some of them have names taken out of folklore or mythology. Gulpers in folklore were lizard men that would jump out of the water and swallow children whole if they got too close to deep water. I thought it was just a UK folktale but essentially it's supposed to be a warning for children to stay away from dangerous water where they might drown.

All the named foods in the series (Cram, Yum Yum Deviled Eggs, etc) are directly from the games. IIRC, the deviled eggs are freeze dried.

Fun fact. Most of the props were made on 3d printers from the models in Fallout 3 and 4.

I like the contrast with last episode. Titus runs away yelling "fuck fuck fuck", where maximus runs towards his squire to help yelling "fuck fuck fuck". I think he does want to do teh right thing. He did bully Thadeus back a bit at the beginning "clean the crotch palte, climb a tree for an apple, etc), but after he asks him what he thought of Maximus and found out the bullying wasn't personal and was part of a cycle, he started treating him better.

@@AretaicGames lol how far does the skull have to decompose to stop qualifying, or is even the sheer implication of relationship enough for likeness rights? Even more funny is the idea that in the real, lawyers may have had this conversation quite seriously!

@magicbrownie1357Ай бұрын
Normally an actor would get paid a certain amount for appearing in a motion picture, but paid quite a bit more if they have a speaking part. This disembodied head does not speak, so I imagine he didn't get a cent for having a prop that looks vaguely like him in the show. But you never know what he had in his contract.
@jamesgrieves2669Ай бұрын
Usage of likeness probably does get something, but you're right that it won't be close to the same compensation.

Pretty sure you get paid for use of your likeness! From here on out this show gets better on balance the further it goes on. I wasn't too sure it was going to really "feel" like Fallout until after this episode, mostly through withholding judgement. Norm's almost certain to be the most intelligent person in any room he's in. Give him the daily grind and he's bored and uninspired. Give him a puzzle he doesn't know the solution to and he's a completely different guy. Perception off the charts too. Clearly sacrificing strength and endurance in the bargain.
