The Fallout games, but especially Fallout 4, got me through my PTSD. No lie. I was almost murdered in 2014 while visiting Boston. Stabbed 14 times with various blades, including a machete. When i was recovering, all i could do was play games, and Fallout 4 came out while I was secluding myself, so i decided to face my fear of Boston. Conquering the literal monsters of the wasteland helped me conquer the figurative monsters of my own mental paralysis, and as i went back through the other Fallouts in reverse order I got stronger and stronger. I now have a wife and 3 beautiful children with her, with fallout playing no small part in my recovery, because if that wasteland hadnt helped me conquer my demons, I don't know if i would even be here today. Thank you Tim and Leonard for providing this wonderful world that saved me.

Still have Fallouts 1 & 2 on CD-ROM and the original cardboard boxes they came in. As well as those awesome manuals. Even have War Never Changes tattooed on my body. That’s why the Fallout franchise will always have a special place in my heart when it comes to one of the greatest rpgs/games of all time.

Well, Leonard threw a new wrinkle into the ongoing debate about the nature of the Pip-Boy 2000. Fans (and apparently Leonard) have for the longest time envisioned it as a handheld device even though it is CLEARLY described in the manual for Fallout 1 as being wrist-mounted.

I guess the question is, is the wrist a part of the hand? I'd argue the pipboy is both a wrist mounted handheld device. My reasoning is that when I broke a bone in my wrist, my thumb became unusable. The casts covered my hand, wrist and arm. The wrist may be its own thing but I think it's complexity really makes it a sort of part of the hand. Also I just Google it after typing and Google says the wrist is part of the hand... So....

RIP troika /: I recently started playing arcanum and man the writing and the mechanics are so cool. Troika made some of the best games and I plan to play more of their releases. They were far ahead of their time. Edit: I just finished watching and this was beautiful. Great questions from the host and wonderful answers from the guest. To hear what a silly and wild ride it was for them is funny and I'm glad we could all come along.

@@CHADAFallout76Podcast bro you should've asked those guys wtf was going on with that gnome master race subplot of arcanum lol that's the wildest allegory ever and since boyarsky is jewish i wonder wtf could they have been allegorizing there plus ask some more questions about the political nature of their work, bioshock of course is a diatribe against free market capitalism with a lot of anti ayn rand and adam smith overtones, while the company "troika" is 1 a russian name (east europe is associated with communism due to obvious reasons) and "troika"'s logo utilizes a art style popular in the soviet union of the time. their art has been very political for a very long time.

1:15:45 I think people are forgetting that these were young guys in their 20s just winging it and having fun. Nowadays gaming has become such a serious industry, people are going through every cutscene, every word and every animation with a fine tooth comb, creating 7 hour long analysis videos, detailing every small inconsistency and plothole. But for these guys it was just another Thursday when such and such decision was made because they just thought it was funny at the time. This makes it that much more impressive, that they manage to keep a consistent tone and story, and finish a game that ultimately became the foundation of a multi million dollar franchise.
