Fallout 3 (Firelance) near Bethesda Ruins

Getting the Firelance, not Alien Blaster, near Bethesda Ruins. Steps are shown in the video on how to get the Random Encounter, be patient, and reload the quicksave, IT WILL HAPPEN, eventually. My Character Level is 20.

There are plenty of locations where random encounters take place. I chose this one b/c I found it easy to find the firelenace after the explosion. You can some other areas where you notice a trigger of random event if this one doesn't work for you. However, it should work after a few tries.

You absolutely right my friend. The only reason I choose this spot is because I can guarantee that I will be able to find the gun, and most of the ammo.

you can do the same thing near rockopolis , just go in to smith casey's garage the out again, turn right and save then make your way to rokopolis and normally there will be a random encounter, such as the firelance.

Entering the building will trigger the event for a random encounter, as for the save at that spot, it makes it easier to quickload in case the random encounter is not the crash!!

the alien blaster is near a power stasion and a colaped bridge, cross the bridge to a destroyed house surounded by radiation, thats where the space ship is, next to a dead alien is the blaster with some ammo

ive been looking for this gun forever!!! until this video, i did the same thing as you did and i got the firelance!! it took exactly 17 times for the encounter to happen, ( even with Luck at 10) i had Three dogs headwear, Ranger armor, and lucky shades. it took awhile but it worked,great video, 5/5 this is a great spot to do it if your looking for firelance. :D :D :D

Thanks for the video! Every other vid had common locations (super duper mart, wilheims, etc.) that i had already explored. Lucky for me it spawned on my first attempt at level 30.

firelance fell on a top of the building that I couldn't reach... Had to start over and again and found it on the alien beacon

@JandTCORP I believe what you are hearing is someone shooting the enclave eyebots. The Firelance explosion is pretty loud and bright, even during the daytime.

That's a tough situation. I really have no idea what happens in that case. I would recommend going back to a previous save and try again, this way you'll guarantee a new encounter.

@TheBreadfan72 Quicksave only works with the PC version of the game. And yes it is possible to find the gun just lying around somewhere in the game, normally the sign is that you will see some of the ammo (they glow in the dark). Found it once in a different character north of the map, on the way to "Clifftop Shacks". Hope that helps.

It can only happen once in a game, so if it landed somewhere, if you still know where that happened, there's a chance that it is still there, get dogmeat and see if he can find it for you there

Cool. I found the gun in a completely different place, (a burnt out barn next to a grain silo) but I didn't realize that a ship exploded mid-air!! Only felt the radiation and then found the gun in the barn. I was around level 12 when it happened.

The firelance sets people on fire AND discinigrates them. It uses Alien power cell ammo, the same as the Alien Blaster. The dun my character is holding is called the Lincoln's Repeater, it uses Magnum ammo, and can be fixed with rifles.

That depends on how much time do you have on your hands. Creating a character is always fun too, especially with the new DLC coming out in 4 days.

Good thing I saved. I was walking around there and notice a random event occurred there. First time, some lone wanderer running, probably the crazy guy that doesn't make sense... later he's talking about that town run by ants. The next time I reloaded, a group of ghouls just camping there. Then it crashed when I reloaded again. Always companied with an explosion.

It doesn't have to be in the same order. The only thing you need to make sure that you do is enter the building and then walk towards the crash area, until it happens.

My friend said it fell out of the sky, but I made a profile for my little brother and he found it at level 5. A raider had it, I was so pissed off that he had it, and I spent a good month finding it. Damn. He didn't even care, and left it in the scrapyard. I could have bitten his head off, but I didn't wanna break my braces.

Time of day does not matter, although at night you can see all the ammo since they glow in the dark, however it makes it harder to see where the Firelance fell, I suggest you do this in the day, and wait till it is dark to collect all the ammo.

That's hard to tell since it is a random encounter and could happen anywhere, a frequent place is by super duper mart, another one is way up by Oasis near cliff top shacks, close by Arlington Library before the bridge and few other places that I can't remember ...

hmmm, to my knowledge the deathclaw Gauntlet schematics are always in the same area, at the bottm left of the map, near a place called F. Scott key trail, inside some trailer

omg this actually worked! ive got like 100+ hours on my playthrough and i was afraid i may have missed it accidentaly, but apparently i didnt . i do advise you to bring dogmeat if you try this, as it makes it much easier to find the stuff.

It doesn't matter whether you kill the raiders or not, I did it b/c they annoy me. However, yes, you have to enter the building and walk towards the crash site to trigger the event, as long as the crash didn't happen earlier in the game, because it can only occur once per character.

That's because of the Armored Suit which you get after you finish Operation Anchorage DLC.

ah... now i understand.is like in the anchorage memorial.when you first arrive here you get some random events like a scarvenge asking for water, a bunch of ghouls thanking you for not killing then or some psycho guarding a refrigerator full of purified water,right?

I found a ton of alien power cells when i was walking to the river boat landing i did not know what they were so i picked them up but forgot the gun lol

This is the suit that I'm wearing, you get that when you finish Operation Anchorage, it gives you a stealth field when in sneak mode

okay ... i got this weapon in a very strange way : i had charon as follower when i heard the explosion, but didn't know that it was. Then i found the some alien power cells laying on the ground. Later, i went to my megaton house to store some things that i got and i found that charon had the firelance in his inventory

That's because I have the Ninja suit you get when you finish the Anchorage quest that gives you invisible field when in sneak mode

Any character in the game is smart enough to pick it up. I think around the area your describing Talon company guys normally show up, as well as some random hunters. Try your luck, maybe it's still around there somewhere

Other characters in the game (Raiders, Talon...) are actually smart enough to pick it up. If it happened in a place where there's no one around then it is still there waiting for you.

@thehamsterran35 Unfortunately there isn't a way to tell if it happened earlier in the game or not. And it can only happen once per character. But normally it is hard to miss, since the explosion is much louder and different looking than others in the game.

Ouch...That's a tough one, I would try to see if Dogmeat can get it for me first, if not, rinse and repeat, and hope this time it'll fall somewhere better.

i agree, i've had loads of times that i was just walking around and heard some random explosion and half the time it ended up being a car blowing up, missles firing, ect. when it could have actually been me walking by a random event that gives me a very powerful weapon.

No, This is the Shady Hat, it belongs to the dude who asks you to blue up megaton. you can find it in megaton in his shed, you won't lose karma if you break in.

First play through I thought it was just random artillery fire by the Super Duper Mart and didn't pay much attention to it. Second play through I had Dogmeat with me and had him look for some ammo and after a couple trips he found all the alien power cells that dropped with it.

Tried that on ps3 with my lvl 30 dude and got it on first try, haha. Thanks for the nice random encounter spot.

@boothbuster1288 If the crash happened then there has to be a gun, if you reload the save from before the crash you should be able to trigger the event again.

It sure is different, the FireLance has more damage, plus it has burn (it lights stuff on fire if they don't die right away)

it takes anywhere between 1 and 50 at the most. If nothing happens by then, i'd assume the crash happened somewhere else without you noticing it .

theres also an extra alien blaster in broken steel dlc in the enclave platform if u have the expansion ther are also videos where to find it and ammo.

@silentkiller102 if this helps the usual place to find it is when your going to the mine feild theres a small creek with to cliffs high encounters were found there and also heres a quiestion if you HAVE encountered it but never saw the explosion did you know where its coming from and acctually find like a alien cell? at all?

I had this encounter happen truly randomly while walking up to the Robot Repair Center near Canterbury Commons. This gun owns...

This happens at any level. Sometimes it takes more tries than others. Keep in mind that it only happens once through out the entire game

quicksave is essentially pressing select and waiting =/ on PS3, although i own the game on PC and suggest getting it on that or Xbox for DLC. Don't get me wrong, i've played the PS3 version and there was nothing wrong with it, and i've heard unconclusive third party remarks on how their getting the DLC also sometime.

I foun my firelance RIGHT when I started the game, I went to the wall mart for the survival guide and a raider was shooting an enclave eyebot with it lol.

It doesn't matter if you discovered Bethesda Ruins earlier in the game, it'll still work.

For PS3 and XBOX use a normal save. The important step is entering the building, that's what triggers the random event.

no it might have dropped on some bulldings, i suggest using dogmeat to find the weapon for you, dogmeat is in the scrapyard, go to the spot and have him look for a weapon

To my knwoledge there isn't a way to know if it had happened earlier, but it'd be hard to miss normally, as you can see in the video it is pretty loud and visible even during the day. My first playthrough it happened so early in the game i had no idea what it was. My second playthrough it didn't happen, so that's why i forced the random encounter.

There's no Quicksave or Quickload for PS3 or Xbox, however, normal save and normal load work just as well.

This is in the original game (Without any DLC). Yes, it is available in the "game of the year" edition. Ammo is rare. No it does not recharge, though that would have been nice.

yeah i found the random event location at clifftop shacks... i keep loading my game and going through the same damn narrow walkway... everytime i reach the damn rad pools its somthing new (although this place does actually have somthing for megaton refugee's.... they spot more often than others)

Sometimes it takes 3 times, other times it takes about 100, there's no telling. But if you've done this for over an hour like you said then there's a good chance it happened earlier in the game.

the firelance can be found almost any were once i found it in the capol buliding and as my other chater in deathclaw senctury

@tommymahavolich Dedicated about 2 hours or so and kept waiting by flak 'N Shrapnel and buying their inventory of .44s. Usually the cycle is about 3 days till they get new stuff, hope that helps.

@thehamsterran35 No the quest thing has nothing to do with it. The wasteland junkie is not supposed to be there, he is one of the random encounters, so somehow you triggered the encounter in that area. Try to repeat the steps and avoid going by the station when you're coming!!

I was going after the lockpick bobble head and when i came out, a raider almost killed me with that thing. 500+ hours and second time its happened to me. Anyway, came here to see where the ammo dropped, geuss ima have to go and get Dogmeat.

Same for PC and PS3/XBOX, difference is you can only quicksave and quickload on PC. Use normal save and normal load for PS3/XBOX. Good Luck.
