Excellent work! I have to admit, when you started building I really didn’t know where you wanted to go with all that, but it turned out great. And to think that I used to avoid building with prefabs because I thought they looked boring. You use them so … elegantly, I think that’s the right word.
@FiddleflapsVids3 жыл бұрын
Thanks - glad you liked how it ended up! I find prefabs to be very useful for blocking out structures (especially large ones) so I can quickly get a rough idea of how something will look and fit into an area. I feel it’s important to remember to use them as a framework to hang stuff off and build upon, otherwise you will just end up with a big box which never looks good. Plus some prefabs come with textures you can not get from other pieces, just wish I could get more use out of some of the objects from the metal tab 😊

@@FiddleflapsVids if you’re looking for inspiration for the metal tab, there’s a channel called imRequiem, he does cinematic fallout 4 vids, but there was a house build in his vid “winter is coming” that blended the metal, wood, and warehouse tabs together in this really satisfying way. The exterior is only in frame for a short bit but I think that’d be enough for you to get a good idea

If I understood correctly, you have the decoration finished, I can't wait to see the result

Unfortunately, still got a couple of build vids to go and the decorating has not been started yet. I thankfully now have a bit more free time for building, so hoping the finished build is not too far away 😊

Lol, the NCR have arrived in the Commonwealth! The builds coming along well and hoping to be done with the main construction within 3-4 build vids (have 2 already recorded!). The thought of getting this thing furnished and decorated… THAT almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter 😏

I fear that you ask too much from such simple folk… These are people who see a staircase and will stare blankly at it in wonderment, and you expect them to be able to sweep up leaves or clear small piles of debris? Some of the choices and limitations made for the building system still baffle me, but after seeing the mess they made with FO76 I am sure FO4’s settlement system was a total fluke and just grateful that it’s as good as it is. Sadly does not fill me confidence for their future games 😌

@@FiddleflapsVids it’s a shame too because all they had to do instead of crap out 76 is wait to make a ps5 version of fallout 4 with enhanced features and more to offer but this is Bethesda we are talking about.

There are few design elements and the functionality of the second floor is not clear. I would really like to see this building in action with NPCs
@FiddleflapsVids8 ай бұрын
The second floor is intended to be a private space seperate from the bar where the owners could live, might make more sense seeing it furnished and decorated as shown during the finished tour of this build - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKixlpSeeN2Sbdksi=dQMegf9Rf1vZbtQY&t=863

No mods needed, those chairs snap together in the vanilla game.

It’s a feature of the Place Everywhere mod and was done using the numpad keys. The mod along with a full list of features and hotkeys can be found here - www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424

Lol - as much as I don’t want to do it I would not release an un-decorated tour. Unfortunately, I will not be doing videos on me furnishing and decorating, the build videos already delay me releasing tours and blueprints as it is. I am still amazed people enjoy the build vids, but I am tempted to release one decorating vid just to show how tedious the process really is 🤣

Honestly being able to clip objects inside of other objects should have been in the game from the start.
