D00d, 'Lone wanderer' works with Dogmeat, plus he has the ability to hold enemies even WITHOUT the 'Attack dog' perk. Also, Dogmeat is kinda essential to any OTHER build exactly because of 'Lone wanderer' for the damage resistance, but a charisma build is where you can really go with another companion, because you now have access to 'Inspirational'. Anyway, check your stuff before making a guide...

Lone wanderer is a must have. Pretty much the best perk in the game considering how much it gives you. Absolutely must have if you okay on survival.

Actually there is a reason for lone wanderer, dog meat doesn’t count as a companion for some reason so lone wanderer still works with dog meat as a partner, wow it be a huge buff on your charisma build

Black widow/Lady killer is bugged. It is supposed to improve your chances to pacify,but instead actually lowers your odds by the stated amount. Also...Dogmeat does not count as a companion,so lone wanderer would be a very smart choice. Overall this build feels half- hearted and uninspired. One last thing...Piper gives you a perk that doubles EXP for ALL speech checks. So why would you take the dog again..?

4 years late, but in case you want to revisit fallout 4 S 6, P 4, C 10, L 5 idiot savant for lv1 shelves spam in sanctuary until around lv13-15 get special book, +Perception this is the must have perks: demolition expert perk, strong back, cap collector, lone wanderer loot weapons and ammo as many as you can, go to vault 81 as early as possible buy .45 as many as you can then camp outside vault 81 wait for cricket. buy spray n pray. around 1300 with your high charisma. annihilate everything. don't worry about ammo because it's very cheap with high charisma. just stock up as much as you can. even if you didn't get the demo expert perk, spray n pray can still stun lock enemy with its explosion legendary.

Endurance instead of intelligence made it ten times easier to aim at engaged enemies for pacifying. Using five points in Luck for idiot savant also seems to turn better loots, that you won't miss not having Gun Nut.

+ArmyOfNoPants Yup I've noticed that for a while now, glad someone else did too. But, right now I'm just kind of passing time and hoping that a DLC Let's Play can bring in more people. If it does then the builds will most likely come to an end for F4. I was also contemplating Dark Souls 3 builds, however PC gets the game like 2 weeks later or something :( .... So idk, it's a weird phase to be in, but you're right. I don't plan on making F4 builds forever, or plan to play F4 forever for that matter.
