That would be great. The quest could involve gathering enough settlers in the castle, and they ‘shovel” at the debris piles. After several in game days the piles will be flattened. Then you are sent to one of the quarries in the Commonwealth , clear out raiders, and turn it into a settlement. Then gather quest specific settlers across the commonwealth to agree to ‘work the quarry” to gather stone and cement. After that the walls can be rebuilt. Oh but to dream…

If you’re on PC, there’s literally a mod that does it for you. The way it works says there’s like a symbol to repair the wall. If you have the materials you can go ahead and just hit repairing it build it back for you right in front of your eyes.
@ashleeaustin3586 ай бұрын
If you're on a console did you know you could group select the whole wall. Place a fence post as close as you can to it first. (The fence post allows you to raise or sink the wall and if you don't have add ons or DLCs then the white picket fence post works best.) after placing the post then group select by holding down the select button. Just make sure your walls are not too close to other items you have placed or you will grab everything. It doesn't just work of floors but most everything. You can sink items into walls or the ground. There are some amazing videos on this and I just found out about it a couple weeks ago.

@richardplatt43616 ай бұрын
I usually start at the bottom, in the middle. You can use a shack wall to stack the foundations perfectly. You actually can adjust both horizontally and vertically by group-selecting the wall after you've built it. Then I can place my gate, and I don't have gaps on the ends. I also play around with the wall placement until I get a relatively continuous wall all the way around that the Minutemen can patrol. Note: Make sure that you've completed "Big guns" before you start burying foundations because they can block the passages that you need to walk for that quest.

Just as a heads up, as I discovered today, if you're repairing the walls with the barn or warehouse foundations (released since this vid was made, of course), this still works; with 1 thing better, 1 thing different and one thing not as good. The different; When doing the bottom layer, the wood stairs won't work, (different heights), so you need to snap a barn or warehouse stairs, then a quarter sized square to the back of the stairs, then a half floor in between the 1/4 square and the block. Then you can snap the warehouse/barn foundation as shown. The badder: the bottom row of warehouse/barn foundations won't snap to each other, so you'll need to move the stairs and repeat for each block. The gooder: the warehouse/barn foundations _will_ sink into those little holes, so if you muck up the first wood floor, it's not as dire. :D Thank you for the vid, MrC, still helpful all these years later!
@talorw8930Ай бұрын
Absolute life saver 🙏 i wanted to use warehouse and noticed the height problem then i ssw this comment, thank you very much. Though how on earth did you figure that out lol?
@BethgaelАй бұрын
@@talorw8930 Part of it by accident? I wanted to use the warehouse/barn foundations over the originals because the "block" worked better for me on the sides with the walls (just a preference) over the smooth concrete. Had placed all the top row before going "duh, the stairs are a different height, you silly [Bethgael], that won't work." So I tried the different stairs out until I found what would work. The "oh, these _will_ go into the teeny holes!" was pure accident. :D

So if you get a wall build that isn't quite straight you can straighten the whole thing out as one object with that. Thanks for watching!

If you're wondering why you can't fix the fort normally, it's because the rubble is connected to a precombine. Removing it or tampering with it causes countless things to rendee as individual objects instead of one big one globally, meaning even as far as downdown boston by greentech genetics you're going to be getting like 10fps
@ManBat420 Жыл бұрын
There is a really great mod that repairs the Castle, it's called something like that "Castle Rapaired" I think. It fixes the walls and takes away that massive heap of ruble. It Also opens up one new room by the kitchen and like 5 more rooms by the armory. There should have been a Minute Man mission where we could have restored it to that state.
