I always wondered why there is so much trash and junk especially in settlements. Like Codsworth said, the Sole survivor was out for 210 years. More than enough time to clean up the settlements.

Dave, the civilian in the tractor outside was not attempting to ram the door, he was pulling the door out of the frame. It is still connected to the loader bucket on the front of the tractor.

Ok...as for faster loading workshop, there's a mod called faster workshop but it hasn't been updated yet from the Next Gen update. I use the GOG version which is preNext Gen update and that mod I would not even mod without, it loads up the workshop really fast....and I tell you it's a world of difference. Now someone on nexus said in comments that if the original mod author didn't update the mod by end of January, that they would take that on and update it because it's just that great, it really does make loading your workshop almost instantly even if you have hundreds of mods...which I do. It don't have anything to do with load order. So just keep you eye out on that and track it, FASTER WORKSHOP....it's a godsend.

I’ve discovered the more NPCs, the bigger the load. So, cleaning up will let your computer spend less memory on stuff, the biggest advantages are taking out raiders/gunners etc. So I take out NPCs first and foremost. Of course there are spots were they respawn, but there are many places were they don’t respawn, taking off some of the load. I always take out NPCs around Goodneighbor as they have the biggest impact on loading time when exiting that place.

@@NorseGraphic I just noticed the other day that the hardware store resets for the most part. A settler trying to draw us in but only two raiders inside and everything but the caps stash and the yellow box resets, the office, the key for the other room with the safe resets and the loot when you walk in the back.

Hi Dave😊 I am a bit envious, i have tried several times to use the ssk mod and i get frustrated really fast because there is no rhyme or reason to things you can and can't scrap. On the one hand i can scrap a useless pile of debris on one side of a settlement but on a different side can't scrap the same pile of debris asset it's infuriating. I have now uninstalled it for the 3rd time. However you can do the point/delete thing but i'm on XBox series. Sigh. Guess i'll just live vicariously through you😅

LOL, why scrap if you gonna leave a skeleton in the bathtub, if ever you would want to build up in it for future living purposes....and there are tons of skeletons all over the commonwealth, a reminder of how greed and not caring for life in general can destroy humanity so in my game if I scrap, I like to make it more like no reminders of the past, keeping in mind that we would never do that again but also start out clean and as new as possible in a fallout world. According to lore, the war was started by Vault tec who wanted to sell more vaults....in fact they sold them in Nuka world which is where you find some starcores, and they also experimented on people there with gas...Vault tec was a bunch of evil mad scientists and greedy Mofos. While the fallout world isn't perfect, getting rid of the Institute or taking it over and changing it for the better of humanity for healing and cleansing of the planet, healing super mutants, like the serum Virgil takes to become a human again. So much potential in this game if only I knew how to make mods I would do some extended things and turn things around for the good of the people if they wanted to undo being a ghoul and of course reversing the Super mutants would be a great start, and scrapping and cleaning up the world. OH.....and get some new mattresses or at the very least some clean sheets and blankets because I couldn't stand to sleep on those gross mattresses. As for the oil...how it got there, perhaps it was in a container and when things exploded and fell apart with the floor or ceiling there it was spilled all over. My best guess...LOL
