I compare the performance of various presets on the Steam Deck OLED for Fallout 4 in Diamond City.
I chose Diamond City because the performance takes a hit there.
On Low you get a about 80-90 FPS, on Medium 70-90 FPS, on High 50-90 FPS and on Ultra 45-90 FPS. But if you don't cap the framerate to 60 FPS you will always get graphical hiccups.
So that's why, for me, these are the optimal settings:
Ultra Preset with max 60 FPS.
What do you think? Did anyone else play Fallout 4 on the Steam Deck? And with what graphical settings?

Thanks for putting this up, man! Most of the stuff out there is about how the game runs on the old Deck, glad to see it runs so well on the OLED

good job. my barely out of warranty ultra high end pc's gpu and motherboard both just died (and I'm still paying it off sadly so cannot repair it) so i am looking for things to play, bought f4 but never played it so seems like a good one to throw on the deck

Damn that sucks about your PC. But have fun with Fallout 4, its such a great game and runs great on the Steam Deck.

@@George_McLovin for a couple days I was getting no video on boot up and I'd reboot and it was fine. Then it happened and i rebooted and it didnt come back. tried all kinds of stuff never came back on so i tried my gpu in my real old computer and it gets no video there. I thought oh it must just be the gpu so i tried my old computers gpu in my new one, doesn't work either. so i know the gpu is dead. either the motherboard or the power supply is also dead. or maybe all three. maybe the power supply went and took everything else out. i dont know. its difficult to troubleshoot. :-(

@@s7r49 holy moly dude sounds like some electrical issue but I’m not sure… tough luck to say the least. What temperatures did your pc used to operate at? Perhaps something caused really abnormal degradation of the components as well

@@s7r49 overall IT DOES sound an awful lot like it’s the PSU to blame here
