Here's a tip: At the beginning of the game right before you leave Vault 111, you may see a unique weapon in a case on the wall. You cannot get this because you need to be a master at lockpicking (or something like that). All you need to do is when you get Dogmeat go back there and be near the Cryolater. Then talk to Dogmeat and get to the part where it says, "fetch" (Do not choose any of the other options, they do not work.) He will then have glitched the Cryolater out of the case. You may notice that there is no ammo in the gun though. That is because Dogmeat is holding it, so just look through his inventory. Hoped this helped!

A good tips. NAME the weapons and armor you use with a 1 at the start of the name. For example "1 .50 Sniper Rifle". Those items will then always be at the top of your inventory list. It saves an incredible amount of time when you move your loot from your inventory to a storage chest.

All crafting benches in one area shares it's inventory (and between the settlements who shares a supply line). That includes cooking stations and chemistry stations. This means you can store all your aid items (chems and food) in the same way you store your junk. And you can use those items to make food or chems without having them in your characters inventory.

Tip for new players: Put at least 6 points in Charisma. The local leader perk is flat out required to have any meaningful settlement building, which is a herculean part of any major crafting, weapons/armor upgrades you can acquire throughout the game.

There is a fatboy (no ammo) in the robot scrap yard (south-west-ish of Sanctuary). Its somewhat hidden, mixed in with the junked cars. Check around the (spoiler-kinda) inactive sentry bot. Less awesome, there is also a flamer fuel cell on the ground by the large post.And incase you decide to leave the area, be sure to grab to holotape to control the bot.

There is actually 1 mini nuke in that same junkyard. Right at the entrance behind some tires. Left hand side iirc. Finally, close to that junk yard is a satellite station. Before you reach it there is a vertibird crash site with a power armor and a fully charged fusion core!

Don't underestimate bloodbugs (mutant mosquitoes), they will kill you very easily. They also are very quick and will catch up with you even after sprinting away, so just avoid them if you can at early levels. Also remember that if you have a weapon you don't like or find difficult to use, remember to modify it! Doing this can drastically alter the weapon's handling, behavior, and abilities.

After recently getting the GOTY edition and killing almost 500hrs in this game, my tips for new players are; 1- Get strong back so you can fast travel while encumber. If it's not the most useful perk in this game, idk what is. 2- Don't scrap everything. Some junk like prewar money will give you a lot more caps than the mats it breaks down into. Also true for cigarettes cartons and a lot of armors/weapons. Check the value, check the scrap it gives you. If a sledgehammer gives you just 1 steel but gives you 40 caps(w/perks) You really should sell it. You'll notice alot of junk items are not worth scrapping. 3- Don't store your junk items in the workbench, drop them on the ground and break them into components then store components in the workbench or your scavenging stations will not gather junk. I't s annoying and time consuming but, add the fact that it lowers your settlements built limits, it's a hands-on win. 3- get to know the console. This game is so full of game breaking bugs, it's ridiculous. Once you start getting a few thousand components, you'll notice them disappearing and you'll rage quit after the game stole thousands of useful components like adhesive, aluminum, copper and such. It's a game and it's full of bugs. You've been warned. Enjoy!

here's a workshop tip, put everything that the workbenches use to make things inside them, such as junk, mods, aids or chems that or food, meat and other unique foods to help make things or upgrade things, I found it makes it much easier to play and sort out, also mods should defiantly go to workbench because mods take up your carrying points.

another tip is to build up settlements. you can level up pretty quick early game with it and even in later game it is still a decent way to get a bit more XP. also when you are looting everything prioritize aluminium, screws, oil, and adhesive. these are heavily used in everything and will be needed for defending settlements and modding of items. also even in later game grab every thing. you can sell it to traders and make a good bit of cash that you can use to buy stuff you will eventually need.

special stats stack well past 10. I avoided the perception bobblehead until it was at 10, picking it up later made it 11 permanently. armor and power armor often add bonus special stats as well.

Make a chrisma character. Start it with nine and than get the special book for chrisma. You can get full amount of money. For an example when u go to the house to get to far harbor you can use your charm to get the price up to 500 caps for just finding out where she went. Caps are important. You can get everything with caps. Just get those caps! Also you should make your intelligence as high as you can making your character faster at leveling up.

Expanding on his tips: Picking everything up. Yes do that. But as time goes on, learn which junk has what you really need (surgical trays for aluminium eg) and take those first. Carry weight is limited. Workshops not sharing inventory. If you invested heavily in charisma, local leader let's you link the inventories of multiple settlements

Solid starter advice. Warning: your food in your AID will over-encumber you SO FAST. Sell everything in your aid (leaving stimpacks and Rad-away), DONT DO DRUGS KIDS. Taking chems can save you but the withdrawal effects are not great for the long run

I know this video is old but I had to say I got a good laugh out of it. Don't get me wrong, there is useful info but when you're saying you have 29 or 30 points to work with when planning your build I laughed. You can't lower a stat to 0 so you can't spend more than the 21 base points, and the SPECIAL book makes 22 points. By now people also know of course you can use bobbleheads to push a stat to 11 so picking them up before you have a base 10 is a waste but that's intended. Then of course there is the bug where you can actually use the SPECIAL book to push a stat to 12, though that is indeed a bug and not intended so that's why I say you have 22 points to work with.

My advice... as soon as you get back to Sanctuary, build a bed (ie clear out your broken bed and replace it with a proper bed) and sleep for the well rested bonus (+10% XP). So just knowing about well rested is a good tip for those who don't know about it or don't know it has returned. Re the Perception bobblehead, I'm thinking there MAY be a case for holding off on that. Since if you get it when you have 10 of a stat you get 11 (which I've tested myself, but I haven't checked that you gain any benefit from it) but if you get it BEFORE you have 10 in the SPECIAL, the highest you can reach MAY be 10 (as it reduces the maximum number of perk points you can spend in upgrading that stat). So a power gamer may want to hold off on getting a bobblehead until you have that SPECIAL at 10. Also Bethesda may decide this wasn't what they intended and patch it... so I don't know what to think about that.

***** The reason why I'd consider it is because it relates to the maximum power of your character. For instance, if at end-game, you have gotten every perk you want and you have 11 in every SPECIAL, you will be more powerful than if you had 10 in every special (how powerful will depend on what "we" (the fan-base) find out later on, such as specifics on how much each agility improves sneak, how much strength improves melee damage, how much Luck improves looting and crit recharging, how much Endurance reduces sprint cost, Perception improving VATS accuracy etc). That said, I recognise that at this point we're probably talking 200-300 hours into the game, and if you get almost every perk you could want, you'll be incredibly powerful, even if it is not you reaching your full potential. Also re INT... have you found any good info about what the XP modifier is? I briefly compared INT gains from a 1 INT char and a 10 INT char and got a rough figure that 10 INT earns XP at a rate about 1.27x compared to 1 INT, which would put the modifier at roughly 3% per INT point.

it is possible to order the settlers in some mode: carry the bodies on the conveyor? carry garbage to the conveyor? clean up the garbage around the settlement? clear the wreckage around the settlement? clear the trees around the settlement? order the settlers to work on improving the armor? order the settlers to work on improving weapons? upgrade the crafted armor to shadow and condense?

I found the book can boost you over ten. So if you want that then get whatever skill you want below ten with Chems or something then read the book. Once it wears off boom you have an 11 in that S.P.E.C.I.A.L then just grab it's Bobblehead and BOOM now you have 12 base of that special 😊

dont use the minigun when you get the power armor for the first time as long as you have a rifle and a good amount of ammunition you can beat the raiders and the deathclaw withoit using the minigun just stay up high in a place the death claw cant get to you (btw srry if im wrong but i dont think deathclaws can climb and if they call them fat assess itll make you feel better about your self if you die from one or two or three.) so ya as long as you got a good amoun of ammunition and a gun your set.

If you manually scrap your workshop items by dropping them individually from your inventory, then you'll get all of the resources that item has to offer. But if you just have 100+ items in their original form and you try to use them, you may end up wasting a bunch of resources. (if an item give 1 screw and 5 steel but you just need the screw, then the 5 steel is wasted.)

+JV2017gameplay I believe the game is glitched. I have lost resources this way. The same is true of the "items in scrapped containers go to your workshop": sometimes this works, and other times the items just disappear from the game. Open world items are worse: I scrapped a wooden box and all the items in/on the box (wrench, bottle, cans) just evaporated from the game. If you take your junk and drop them on the ground in your settlement, you can then enter the workshop mode and scrap each item individually thus yielding all the raw components of that item (i.e. plastic, ceramic, steel, etc). This is the only way I have observed no loss of component resources. I fail to understand why junk items stored in your workshop do not automatically scrap down to components. I imagine this will become a future feature after Bethsoft patches the game at some point.

After hearing some insight, I tested whether or not if there was a 'delay' in the time between scrapping and the time it takes to be stored in your workshop... and it's still goofy as hell. Sometimes it goes in instantly, other times it takes 5-15 minutes, other times it takes me changing locations, and other times I couldn't get it to store aka lost items.... It's happened on 3 different character tests, both before and after a redownload. /shrug....

WarmSoftKitty Haha, the main questline is about 4 hours long if you don't do the infinite side quests, and the XP needed for level-up doesn't seem to scale. Not to mention the difficulty is so easy I had to get a mod for it. Once you put perks into stealth skills like Ninja and Sandman, 80% of all enemies become two shot kills. Put more skills into semi auto rifle perks and they become one shot kills. I have a job, though. I mean, the games already been out for 14 days :P

Can i drop junk at the building workshop and still see it in inventory at the same settlements cooking and weapon crafting stations? Or do I have to leave it at the specific crafting station I want to use it at ?

Are these the standard vanilla graphics for Fallout 4 in this footage or is this modded? I ask because I never played FO4 before and im thinking about buying it as its on sale. But the problem im having is finding unmodded vanilla gameplay to watch to make my decision

this was recorded on Xbox One back before console mods came out, so you’re looking at pure vanilla gameplay from 2015 also if you’re curious most of my videos from that era are unmodded. i think the only modded ones are labeled
