Here are some great tricks you can use to build the camp of your dreams with catwalks. I covered a couple of these tricks in previous videos, and there are a couple of easy ones in here, but there are several really good ones in here, including how to use catwalks to create a spawn point for sky camps and merging foundations into bridges. Thank you for all of your support through these recent tutorials!

Thanks for the techniques. Considering how important building is in the game, one would think Bethesda would make better build tools. One thing I would like to see is an option to snap vertically. Some things were easier/possible in Fallout 4. I want to have a good looking camp but I prefer to spend more time playing the game.

I completely get it. For me, the building in this game is a double-edged sword. On one side, I wish it were easier for everyone to do the tricks for creating amazing camps. On the other side, when someone takes the time to learn am the silly little building tricks, they can create something that is super unique and special.

Good video! Hardest unsolved part for me is to use the upper floors instead of foundations above the shallow pond. When I use the foundation with a catwalk and then stair going down into water so i can build a foundation in the water but it isnt letting me as I get the stair can't be in the water message. Tried other tricks but no luck... Any trick for this one? Thanks!

Why don't you just use roofs as floors? Way easier.

I'm trying to get a little more into building, what are some ways to use the merged foundations? I swear I struggle to be creative, but if I were to try to use them I can't place walls without there being a gap, do you have to have the abandoned mine set to work around that and be able to merge your walls?
@MoonlightCowboyGaming
@MoonlightCowboyGaming 29 күн бұрын
Yes on the Abandoned Mine set fir parallel full walls, howeverif you're going perpendicularto the wall instead of parallel, you can use a greenhouse wall. If you're using half walls instead of full walls, you can use the new slant wall trick I made a tutorial on recenly to merge walls. As for the foundations, you can use that use them to make front porches, or just change the shape of your builds to make it unique.

When making the freeplace walls, are u able to scrap the mat after without deleting the wall? Also I am loving your tutorials. I am learning so much! 😊
@MoonlightCowboyGaming
@MoonlightCowboyGaming 3 ай бұрын
Yes, the mat only works as an anchor for the placement. It tricks the physics into thinking that the wall is snapped into position by the catwalk, and the small item (in this case, a mat) is the anchor point. Once the blueprinted walls have been placed, you can safely remove any other part of the blueprint that you would like. I'm so happy you're finding these tutorials to be helpful! Thank you for the kind response!

Yes, although it will be tricky to get the level perfect. Also, the terrain's level variations will also create obstacles. But for someone with patience, it can be done.

@@MoonlightCowboyGaming I like making traps, not ones where you have to activate it as soon as somebody runs in but ones that work if I'm nowhere near the camp. So they're kind of passive so people can go back and put the card on and pick their s*** back up. The slanty foundations as roofs as a sticky wall trap I think would just look crazy good. And I'm not like mean or anything and I don't need anyone's junk.... I know that they're not so popular and people hate them but I think they're cool. If you're a low level with your little guy and you die in my camp, if I'm around and I see it happening I'm going to fast travel to your low level character and just drink some toxic goo so you can get your junk back. If you're a high level I'm probably going to keep your s*** because you should know better, unless it's like flux or something then I'm not going to keep that cuz it's difficult to obtain. But I like the challenge with creating something that looks like something else also with maintaining and working within the budget limitations it's not easy. Also I was tired of seeing all these s***** looking trap camps that as soon as you walk up either the pungie boards spawn in first or it just straight up screams I'm a trap camp and is unoriginal uninspiring and just looks like a straight up trap I was like I can do this better and make them more fun. And I know a lot of people create trap camps so that they can initiate PVP and piss off players because all they want to do is PVP That's all they're looking for is a good fight I'm not that type of person I just like to build. And most people afterwards will fast travel back and ask me how I built it and give me some compliments. I ran into one KZbinr who I'm not going to name but they spent like 5 minutes at my camp and like ran around trying to figure out how it worked and and what I had done to create the effect it was pretty cool.
@MoonlightCowboyGaming
@MoonlightCowboyGaming 3 ай бұрын
@@whytheseaisboilinghot Trap camps don't bother me, so long as they aren't used to troll newbies fresh out the vault. The wasteland gets boring, and I usually get a kick out of falling for traps. Honestly, if I think I see one, I still walk in anyway to test it out. You're right about the junk. If I'm rolling around with mats and junk, then I deserve to lose it lol.
