It's time to test the Railway Rifle. It's a beast of a commando weapon, but how good is it for a rifleman? I'll be using an Aristocrat's, Replish AP on kill, 15% faster reload speed version to find out.

Even in VATS the commando railway rifle can buck so high it breaks the VATS lock.

I've just found a 2-star aristocrats with faster fire rate. I made it automatic and now, even in VATS, if I hold the trigger down for too long I end up aiming at the sky 🤣 It's so much fun, though.

Swap out rhe barrel with the short one instead of the long barrel... it will decrease the range but it will most definitely help with the recoil and sky-gazing xD

I am a rifleman build this makes me rethink using them. When I can't always sneak. I use to use one but the one I had due not having any mods I sold it

If you’re going to be loud you should try a vats plasma castor. Faster fire rate and you hit harder. Party boy + herbivore makes sweet water special blend give 12 perception that lasts an hour. Helps with the heavy gunner low perception. With blight soup I crit for over 2000. If you can get 33 luck to every other crit the gun is good in all content. Pop a few canned coffee for queen/wendigo and a psychobuff. it’s not crazy sneak commando damage but you’re like me and sick of sneaking it’s good enough. Tests I’ve done. I recommend bloodied for most content. AA for queen/wendigo. There’s some debate for AA in expeditions but I usually stick with bloodied there as well. Bloodied, vats acc, reduc action point cost. God roll for normal content. AA , crit damage, reload speed for boss fights using coffee.

as fallout 1st I have the new tent with ammobox near it is good as automatic quad with 50 % crit on the bosses

I tried using a twp-shot railway rifle with ultracite spikes as a sniper for some time. And my problem was basically the same as yours, really good damage, but the spikes kept weighing more and more. I have a quad with less AP cost that i use more often, but that one has a automatic, so the spikes dont end up weighing too much.

What does quad mean? 4 stars?

@@cosmicbilly Quad means it has a quadrupled mag size as a legendary effect. If a standard mag on a gun is 10 round for example, a quad legendary version of the same gun would have 40 per mag.

I’ve got a Quad 50 hit 90 railway and it can just reach out and swat stuff. Can run it as commando because of the hit - nothing gets close. Recently traded for q2525 and qe25 and they are bloody amazing too.

You can use the Railway as a semi-auto outside of VATS if you put a short barrel on it.

I use the bloodied one that fits my Bloodied, Commando build, i rip enemies to shreds in no time, it's not a quad but still my reload is fast, most enemies just died with just one shot. The mirelurk Queen does not even use the 10 ammo. Rifleman build is not for me, keep up the good work!

I've been running a bloodied melee build with with an anti armor chainsaw and a bloodied chainsaw for about 3 months. I got a bloodied explosive railway rifle recently and was so impressed with its damage without a single commando or rifleman perk that I did a compete rework of my build around it. I now have an AA and a bloodied both with explosive. Both are absolute beasts❤❤

i use 2shot xplos or vampire xplos on all my aliases 4 VATS combats , quadruple ammo is useless IMHO since VATS Xpires B4 a regular mag gets empty

I have so many choo choo guns that i basically never use xD I might mod one into a semi auto and use it as a vats option when im just clearing mobs or things

On day on my second character I got a Quad fire rate VATS cost Railway rifle that, at the time, I didn't understand is an absolute god roll. It has been my go-to weapon ever since on that character. Just absolutely deletes everything.

I got a quad version but i hate how heavy ammo are and how fast you go through them if you use it in full auto so i started to use it as a vats sniper and oh god is it fun its so accurate i hope i will get one with better effect for vats

Why do people always aim for the head on the queen? You do a lot more damamage to hurt legs

Why are you shooting her legs as opposed to the wings? Damaging the wings keeps her grounded longer resulting in higher damage.
