I have full set but it's on display i don't like the way it looks. It looks like it's made of plastic and the shape displeases me. I use bos recon instead it's all unyielding and the look and shape look good and i also have 2 bos recon helmets 1 from daily ops the other from fort atlas event both tie into it well. But i'm a pa build so i only see my armor when out. My pa is t 65 full bolstering with the highest defenses in game

Bought the full set in the previous sale months ago. Great armor. As for helmet it aint bad but it aint great either. I bought it for its stormtrooper/deathtrooper looks and the bright spotlight. Upgraded multiple sets. No complaints about it.

My Secret Service set sits in the stash these days, I find the Civil Engineer to be a little better to me. SS has slightly better damage resistance, but CE has slightly better rad resistance. SS is expensive gold bullion including all the plans to upgrade everything, and is locked to player. CE is craftable and tradable and easily obtained by doing the 6 Atlantic City missions. Also, the CE comes with a set bonus perk if you're using all 5 pieces and the SS does not.

Everyone seems to sleep on the civil engineer armour, it makes a huge difference for my full health melee character, keeps the auto axe going for ages between repairs

I like 76 but I can't grind it like some people. I also don't like that I cannot add any more perks. I was using MrWestTek's something Commando build but I cannot build it the exact way he did. I just don't understand perks in 76. 4 is easy, so is Starfield.

Have it on my bloody character but tbh i prefer civil engineer for my full health guys, specially for melee cos the added weapon con and fire damage to attackers vomes in real handy, that and the whole set is free just the mods that cost an even then its stamps and much cheaper than any other armour, 300 stamps for the jetpack vs 1500-2000 gold is hard to argue with

I've got the secret service armor on my main character, but can't afford it on the newer one that I started a few weeks ago (planning to turn that one into a ghoul when it gets added next year since I'm not going to be switching my main character back and forth for that... that'd be bloody stupid and mess up my head canon, and my head's messed up enough as it is). =)

The helmet is NOT "worthless". It's visual like any head piece, and it has a good spotlight on it. I like the spotlight better than pipboy light.

It's worthless to me.. It doesn't give any resistance bonus and it's worth 1650 gold bullion from Regs and 1238 from Minerva. You can easily wear a miner helmet, or a reclaimed deep mining gas mask and get the same benefits it does.

I’ve played this game since it came out six years ago and have six character builds and on my current two I have not purchased Secret Service armor because I have not noticed any benefits from it. I have extensively tested it against every day armor you pick up and since numbers do not matter in this game, it’s all about the legendary rolls, The physical armor itself really has no benefit in my experience. Currently I’m in the market for thorn armor seeing as the first four years or so I used Secret Service and noticed no benefit over metal or combat armor. But everybody has a different experience. It is not the same for everyone regardless what anybody says, everybody’s experience is different from one another.

I wish I could agree with that, but I can’t because everybody’s experience is different. Everybody needs to try out different things to find out what is best for them because there is no answer for the best set of armor in here. It is all based upon your gaming platform, play style and skill. If you’re basing your armor off of numbers then yes Secret Service is the best but in my experience with this game in the past six years, numbers mean nothing, it is all based upon the legendary rolls and in order to find that out for yourself, you need to test it out, but I also play on PlayStation and PlayStation users have a much different experience as opposed to Xbox and especially PC.

The one constant with this game is, they are always updating it and changing things. I know how things used to be years ago, but as of recently, I am learning again because they are changing things to make them work the way they were originally intended to, even though for years, they did not work how they were supposed to. This is why everybody needs to experiment and try things out for themselves because that is the only way you will truly find out what works and what does not.
