Fallout 76: Resetting item spawns. The 255 rule for players and server explained.

They should revert back to the 18 hour rule. The 255 basically forces us into fallout first.

Thank you! I've been wondering for a long time why items like I thought were probably on a 24 hour timer (like logs in my camp) were coming up again when I had a particularly long play session. It all makes sense now.

It's been a while, like almost 25 years, but 255 items, so it's an 8 bit database that was already out of date when it was implemented? Resources maybe? I can't remember, it's been a while but 255 is or was a significant number.

It’s the 8bit interger limit, any value over 255 resets back to 0. Which is perfect for this system, it resets itself without additional code, keeping the script lightweight.

Thanks. Doesn't seem to work for the expedition locations though. I tried this on the ammo boxes in the Flooded City Center and it seem to be on a 24 hour timer unfortunately.

How do u know when u go from 255 to 1? Or does that matter? What if u loot 320 pieces? Does that mean the next server will be 65 down already?

@@klumze9911 I don’t think you’re offended so thank you. You are thorough which is a great quality, but you were also repetitive and unedited. Condense. One of the things that helped with my public speaking was not memorizing a script, or winging it; write an outline, memorize your outline and improvise your presentation based on those subjects and points. Record your game play with live speaking, or record gameplay and your speaking separately. I got what I needed out of 6 minutes you could’ve easily condensed to ten. Some people won’t click on a video for one piece of advice that’s 40 minutes long, and most aren’t going to watch the whole thing which effects the exposure of your video and lessens the chance of people who need to see this from seeing it. That’s a shame to me and I hope you take my advice please, It’s free, not trying to get a win I just hope it pays for the useful advice you’ve given.
