In all my hours of random fallout 76 builds this is the first Skyrim build I've seen. Most of the time it's commandos or heavy gunner builds. So thank you for going outside the box.

Nice to see some bow love in Appalachia Ok so I have a character that uses bows exclusively. The only arrows you craft are normal or ultracite. You only need to craft around 50-100. The bows will return far more ammo than you will ever use. The only time you need to carry more than 300 arrows is at the Nuke events. The receiver you add to your bow/compound/crossbow is the only thing that has different requirements during crafting. It still will only use normal arrows or ultracite arrows. Also the modifications plans are locked behind faction reputation. So you need to be at least Friendly with Crater or Foundations for plans to show at vendors. There is a wandering trader who sometimes has all the bow plans. But that is whole other grind to find them and their inventory is random.

I've had this video up for about 3 days now, flicking back and forth between the game and here trying to create my own version of a Bow Build. I've tried bows more times than I can count, and every. single. time. I get to thinking that my "Build" is decent enough, I find out that it's lacking compared to Commando/HG or Commando/Shotgun. I have SO MANY perfectly usable weapons in my stashbox for various Perk Builds that I simply don't use because Commando is so OP comparitively. After watching your work here, I'm really glad I've held onto my two Bows and Crossbow. I really appreciate the time you've taken with this, and I sincerely hope to run into you in the game so I can give you something tangible as a means of saying thank you. Bows have been too often overlooked, and it's nice to see there are others who've never completely given up on them.

If I ever actually get around to playing this game I've owned for over a year and never touched, I might give stealth archer a try as my second character just to continue the Bethesda Game stealth meme, after I've made the standard Power Armor heavy weapons guy, of course.

watched a bow build level 1000 yesterday three shot all three of the new nuke event bosses, dude was doing 1/3rd health per arrow was nuts, event was over in a minute and a half

First off. Great freaking video. Second. As you said in your video, I also up until recently forgot bows really existed. I had an AA50H1P compound bow drop for me yesterday and coincidentally found this video not long after and decided to give it a try. Without changing a single point from my vats commando crit build (smilar we just have to change commando to bow perks) this thing smacks. It's miles away from being as efficient as a RR for boss killing BUT for normal mobs? Hell yeah! The range on these is insane and you 1-2 shot basically everything. Another point about bows is they weigh basically nothing. That being said you can just have one sitting around in your bag for when you feel like plinking arrows around. Give bows a try guys. They are super fun! 🤘specially if you are already rocking some form of critical build.

My husband and I both run bloody stealth archers for years. We have played them since it was introduced. There is good information here, however anything with +to hit chance is not needed on a bow. Vats with ap regen is where it is at. I one shot anything with these stats on an ultracite bow. I run full unyielding and all I need is a perch. A good side arm can be useful for if the target gets too close. Recommend enclave flamer there.

When i saw that season 17 gonna add quiver skin for backpack, archery target and arrows you can place in it as decor... I've started considering archer build myself. Especially that i love them in Skyrim and was kinda obsessed by archery in popculture back in the day (Katniss Everdeen please NOTICE ME!!!). Soooo yah... Thanks for some advice. I did happen upon the Burning Love event and got the bow as the drop, so the past few days I've been rocking that when I've been out in the wasteland, one-shotting (most) Scorched and Cultists.

Archer is a fun way to play. It's just limiting enough to make thinking necessary during combat.

I’ve been running an archer build for a long time, tried and tested. Stay away from crossbows, they suck. Always choose the compound bow over the standard bow as it has more base damage and the charge time is almost the same. Best arrows are ultracite with plasma as a second. You will never run out of ammo because arrows drop a plenty. I only ever had to craft ammo once, after that you will need to store it in your ammo box constantly because you get so much back. Best legendary effects are instigating and bloodied, with vats hit chance or critical damage as seconds. I carry a shotgun as a side weapon if things get a bit dicey as shotguns spec through strength so don’t necessarily need perk cards from perception or agility. Your perk loadout is a bit questionable, far from being optimised. And for the Burning love bow I always advise to use explosive arrows as it already does fire damage, that way you get nice flaming explosions which are great for tagging multiple enemies at events.

Thematic builds and appearance items are the true endgame. Love the themed builds, too many people focus on min maxing damage output and that gets boring. You can also game the system with crossbows the same way you can with black powder weapons: have multiple of them on your wheel, fire and just swap weapons instead of reloading.

I play a Bloodied Commando, stealth, VATS, crit build and the fun part is, you have to change 3 perk cards in Perception to make it a full Rifleman build and change 4 perk cards also in Perception to have a full Archer build. My point is: when you play as Commando / Rifleman build then you have already a very good build for bows, just change a few perk cards thats all. Anyway great video ;)

Tunnel of love has two deathclaws, one at the end of the railroad tracks and one next to the chapel. Also when using your bow trip a vats fire, vats fire approach. Toggling vats on and of between shots makes your bow more accurate.

just recently started with 76 (played most other Fallout Games before though) and decided to start a 2nd character after finding a bow plan with my first to relive that Elderscrolls Archery playstyle. was lucky to get the burning love just after hitting 15 (during that event) but never got that event popping again since then (currently lvl 46) so i'm still huting with my lvl 15 bow xD came to this video in hopes for another way to get a decent bow but seems like there is only the low RNG chance of getting one randomly dropping outside of that event. Server hopping does not rly work for me as i play on PS4 and my loadtimes are so abyssal that when events pop and i relog to get to another server the event batch is already almost over before i'm fully loaded into the game again xD

I love using weapons that a lot of other players overlook. The extra challenge is also more appealing also. I recently went back to one of my characters that's an archer. I've always played full health on all my characters but am seriously considering bloodied for this. Does speed demon work to help fire rate?

I have a god roll compound bow, bloodied/critical, just waiting for the new season. And damn, it's slow but deal so much damage... It's cool. And tip, for battle against robots, their weakest part is its combat inhibitors. And for the sentinel ones, their fusion cores at its backs. Arrows, any arrows are insanely easy to come by when using bow. I started with only 20 ultracite arrows, and now I literally toss out a thousand or so a day to keep my weight down. Just loot everything and you get like 10 to 30 arrows per kill.

As an actual archer I feel they really missed the mark with compound vs recurve bow. A compound is more powerful, faster to draw due to let off in the cams, and would use almost no ap due to the amount of let off once fully drawn my 120lb bow has around 75% let of so once you start to draw you only pull 120lb for the first few inches then it drops off getting lighter and lighter untill at the stop then youre only holding 25% of the originaldraw weight.... Compound hits harder shots further and faster but might be slightly more noisy

Hi I was watching on Xbox but couldn't leave a comment so I'm using my phone I've only been playing for a year and started using a bow last season and I noticed that the bow animations is wrong when you shoot the bow the character doesn't let go of the string and once you see it you can't unsee it For a game this old it's just a shock to see something like that I have played heaps of Bethesda games and 76 has been the most enjoyable and I don't even play with friends

Yeah the animation is a little wack. The arrows don’t fly either. If you watch our video about the collectron and other rewards from S17, there’s a shot (no pun intended) where Noodle is firing arrows and they either stay on the bow or just disappear and then reappear at the target.

there are only 2 types of actual arrows regular and ultracite any of the arrow mods except ultracite uses regular arrows as ammo so they are all easy to craft

Gr8 production value but as a bow main since bows released imo parts of it were questionable 1. You spend a while explaining a very easy event but you didnt explain how to get the plan for the compound bow (from getting either faction ranked a bit then at either faction vendor) 2. You didnt go over any of the many archer buffs like blight soup/psychotats/magazines/etc These are very important as they can be the difference between 1 or 2 shots, especially for the weak full hp builds 3. You said something along the lines of "use how ever much luck you want" but you really should have max luck and unyeilding for more crits, as luck determines your crit fill rate

Archery isn’t designed for time-based events like Daily Ops, just like miniguns aren’t designed for stealth. When you use the right weapon for the right situation, you will perform great anywhere.

Why are you running gunsmith 5 instead of demo expert 5.? Losing a lot of damage there. Also burning love is a horrible bow. Even bad on humans, Wouldn’t recommend it. At all. Just go bloodied explosion/Plasma bow with +50 crit Also get rid of psychopath and replace with better critical.
