Having been a lifetime Kansas State fan, 74 years, this is the biggest blunder I have ever seen made!!! We finally get a great basketball coach, after years of being mediocre, that can actually recruit good players, and give the fan base hope of being counted in the upper rankings of basketball, and our President has the stupidity to blow the whole thing up. If this happens, I'm through being a supporter and donator. We have the chance to have great football and basketball, and a stupid call like this could end it all. Unbelievable!!!!

What was the whole point of the suspension, if Tomlin was going to be released from the team anyway? Even Taylor said he was monitoring the "indefinite suspension." What changed? Makes no sense.

Coaching staff and athletic dept didnt want to release him only suspension. It was the university president that pissed everyone of by making the decision that he can’t stay.

Why are you guys immediately jumping to the conclusion that everybody at kstate is going to jump ship? You don’t even know the details of the situation. Good thing we have coaches and athletic staff that have clear rationale minds unlike you nervous nellys in the comment section.
@whosays197711 ай бұрын
This is proof of why when a university president, and maybe even an athletic director, is being hired, there needs to be an online student/alumni wide vote of a week or two along with a question about a situation like this in the interview process, and not just a panel of well-known/well-connected alumni and students. As an empath, I had the weirdest feeling about Linton when I read about him after his hiring.

@thekrakenguy696211 ай бұрын
There is no reason the punishment wouldnt have come sooner if it were like that. The legal side was already handled and done with. The way you’re insinuating things about Tomlin is pretty disgusting. If it were anything near what you’re comparing it to he wouldn’t be in school. Fairly easy to deduce this stuff with the information coming from the police and other staff.

Again, sorry if you interpreted my statement incorrectly, I should have written it with more precision.

It was Linton all along who was holding Tomlin back, and Tang was taking all the heat, and THEN LINTON HANGS THEM ALL OUT TO DRY. Tang and Taylor's hands were tied because Linton has the power to fire them. Linton needs to go, and before he does, he needs to rescind his faux pas. He violated the trust of the students, the Athletic Department, the Endowment, and the fans. There was zero transparency from the President. Did he discuss this with lawyers? Did he discuss this with the Regents? These people think they can make unilateral decisions with clean hands.

Very sad to see that Tomlin won’t play. A lot of immaturity on everyone’s part. Linton should have been more upfront and more thick skinned. Not handled well by our president. Also remember Tomlin was the root cause twice. Coaches talk endlessly to athletes about their decisions without success. Tomlin got in a bar fight, then attended the protest at the presidents house.. not smart. What did you expect after that? Finally some students were clearly escalating the situation. End result. Everyone loses. Sad to see this happen.

Someone needs to come clean on all of this mess and a reason why. People need to know what happened with all of this or if Tomlin is going to face some kind of judicial thing? So spill the beans and take ownership for this decision. The only thing that isn't anyone's business is healthcare status per laws and that doesn't seem to be the case. So if Tomlin is going to be standing trial or whatever on any of that then people need to know so that would be a valid reason for this action. Leaders take ownership of their crap, so do it please. This sounds like a weasel way out of a situation without anyone else knowing what's going on.
