Alot of the voice acting in 1 and 2 are extremely high quality. The overseer of the vault in 1 saying you're a hero and you must leave is read so perfectly. Amatas same line just doesn't have the same impact

Indeed it is. If you haven't already I recommend looking into the other voiced characters. A fun fact (if you didn't already figure it out) fallout 1 came out in 1997, and fallout 2 in 1998. Makes all of it so much more impressive considering the standards of the time were games like the resident evil games 1,2, and 3 all came out around the same time and have such legendarily awful voice acting

I say that until Obsidian doesn't confirm Harold really became a talking tree, I will still think that Harold is alive and good. Fallout 3 is Bethesda's mediocre version of Fallout, they weren't very lore-friendly either, so let's pretend it's not canon, only New Vegas is right now. And I don't care if he had a little tree on his head in Fallout 2, I want a clear confirmation from Obsidian about that first.
@atomicninja48476 жыл бұрын
I dont see how its mediocre.Its a great game
@hunlepto22396 жыл бұрын
Alright, I'd say that yesterday I was in my Fallout purity mood, but today I just say that Fallout 3 didn't have as much of an interesting story. People in Fallout 3 were very white and black, the creators didn't care too much about the older Fallout stories and tried to create their own instead (Harold is an exception, but his appearance in 3 is something that I think Obsidian wouldn't have wanted). The ending could have been better if the Broken Steel update wasn't added (although, Fawkes' dialogue in the original ending is so stupid). I kinda liked Fallout 3's story, but there was barely any lore to know and barely any explanation why these guys do these things. In Fallout NV, I have beaten every faction's ending, because all faction has some interesting backstory and good ideologies with flaws and I wanted to know them all. Also, it felt good that my choices finally mattered, it felt more like I was truly playing in the world itself, not I'm the world itself. The difficulty was also harder (with JSawyer's mod, the difficulty is even harder) which was a great change for me, considering I did Operation Anchorage first in my Fallout 3 playthrough and immedietly gotten the best armor and weapon in the game (which I call total bullshit, because something like this shouldn't be given away that easily). I just feel that Fallout 3 is a linear open-world FPS shooter with some RPG aspects meanwhile New Vegas is an open-world RPG with some FPS aspects. But everyone have their own opinions on each game, so I will respect that you liked 3 more.
@atomicninja48476 жыл бұрын
I feel still that Fallout 3 is a open world rpg win first person.That was with the dlc Fallout 3 bulit its story with exploration and side quests not the main quests which i agree while to me it was exciting i can see it being boring.

It’s pretty sad that Harold and Richard Grey never realized what really happened to the other. As far as Harold knows, Richard drowned and even in the sequels he never found out, plus if you ask him about the Master in the tell me about box he asks if the Master is a sex therapist. As for Richard, in his audio diary he says that he’s sure Harold is dead because otherwise he would have tried to rescue him from the vats, unaware of how Harold passed out and was later rescued.

Was there any information about that whatsoever? Harold said he got into green shit, from green shit come super mutant. The Master lived under a church, not in a military base. Harold also said that he was smart and because he was radiation free at the time (they lived in a Vault), he lost no intelligence in the super mutant process. Therefore, I think the Lieutenant being Grey has more proof.
@likeppl6 жыл бұрын
Hun Lepto I think there is a log in the vat control computer (or whatever it's called) that are entries from Richard that talk about his transformation. Grey was dipped for MUCH longer than any of the other mutants, hence why he's is so much more melted than the others. It goes on to describe how he started dipping other humans. Richard Grey is, without a doubt, the master.

I actually started looking at it in Fallout wiki and yes, Richard Grey is The Master. I just don't understand how he got from the Military Base into the Cathedral. Also, I wish there was a dialogue or something that could reference Harold or Harold could reference him in anyway. It would make sense, since while you need high speech checks for The Master to convince him that his plans are doomed to fail, if you could have the option to bring Harold somehow to the Cathedral and make him talk with The Master, it would be easier to convince him, since he would listen to his friend more openly than a stranger.

fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Richard_Grey%27s_audio_diary Check this out. It's basically Grey's story of what happened to him after he fell into the FEV in his own words.

If you play FO1 and check the Mariposa Army Base, you will find some computers with information about him. Richard Grey IS the Master. He became a puddle of meat, absorbing rats and moles. Then a raider entered and he absorbe it, becoming his angry side. Then, a female vault dweller who got lost went inside, becoming his caring side. With those minds combined, plus the fact he had a mental connection with the mutants, it created his twisted dream of a mutated humanity and unity.
