I've been loving this game. It's like they took the difficulty, darkness, and world design...crates, doors, etc. from Fallout 1 and 2, combined it with the questing and dialogue of New Vegas, and kept the engine, weapons, armor, and crafting of Fallout 4 (I'm actually a little sad about that, I hate picking junk up). They then moved all this over to London and created a whole new lore. Really fantastic work.

One of my favourite implied pieces of lore is that in the fallout london universe the divergence happened early enough that Alan Turing never died as a result of chemical castration and went on to start a computing conglomerate. It provides a *really* good excuse for the British computers to seem a bit more advanced than their American equivalents.

I love the fact that John Bercow does some voice acting in this. He was the speaker of the House of Parliament for those that don't know. I don't know what the equivalent for those abroad would be. The speaker is the one you can hear shouting "Order, order" if you ever watch a debate. Or launching cutting insults to whichever MP has annoyed them (had in his case, it's no longer his job). I appreciate that someone like Neil Newbon is obviously much more famous but for injecting a sense of Britishness into the mod it's pretty cool.

I saw an article the other day that said Swen Vincke (CEO of Larian, Baldur's Gate 3) had his eyes set on making a Fallout game if they didn't get the rights to use BG and Dungeons and Dragons. Apparently it would've been in the style of the original Fallouts as opposed to the first and third person views. I doubt Bethesda will ever let any other company work on Fallout ever again, but man that would've been something special. A Fallout game with the quality and graphics of BG3....can one imagine?

It's really not Bethesda's call anymore, because ultimately they no longer own or control their own IP. It's all ultimately Microsoft's IP now, and I would not be even remotely surprised if they had another studio make the next Fallout game. In fact, there are rumors that this is exactly what Microsoft is already doing. They're not stupid, they don't want to wait another decade or more for the next Fallout game. It probably bothers them to no end that the Fallout show is so wildly popular and they don't have a new game to launch with it. Although on the flip side it has revived interest in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Selling games that have been out for years is like printing money, because all the expensive work has already long since been done and paid for.

They won't, Obsidian offered to make a Elder Scrolls game after New Vegas and Bethesda turned that down in a heartbeat. Shame because those extra games made waiting for the next major sequel a lot less bothersome. New Vegas outshined Fallout 3 and Bethesda was not having it 😂.

Microsoft owns them now and owns all of their IP, including Fallout. They also happen to own Obsidian, so.... Who knows, but I just don't think MS bought Bethesda with the idea of waiting more than a decade to publish the next entry in arguably their most valuable IP right now.

Fun fact. That revolver you see the player using in the first 2 minutes really exist. It's a very rare limited production. I believe it's Italian and is known as the Mateba mtr-8. The also made the very rare and limited mateba 6 unica. Very cool.

Remember he was asked about the problems people were having running Starfield. He claimed it was a next gen game and people may have to update their pcs. Modders came up with fixes within a couple of days.

Best case scenario now is that Bethesda gives these guys patronage: hire them for help with fallout 5, gives guidance and resources for Fallout London 2 (maybe even make it a DLC for 5) and encourages other fans around the world to do something similar. More likely is that this is completely ignored by Todd Howard and friends, maybe some low level programmers tweet about it. This makes it so that we the players and fans will have keep this alive and growing

I have 18 hrs in so far, and I gotta say these guys did a fucking phenomenal job. I read somewhere that around 100 people worked on this at various points over the last 5 years. That's insane commitment and pretty impressive from a logistics standpoint. I know CDPR and probably some other studios have hired modders based on the quality and passion in their work, so if Bethesda, Obsidian, or anyone else is smart, they'll do the same with these people. I still have a lot to discover, but this seems like it will be right up there with Enderal. Edit: Apparently a few of the people who worked on this have been hire by Bethesda.

Nah, that seems to bump heads to much with his better judgement of hiring lackluster (lowpay?) crew. 6 months for Starfield patch that had modders fix the issues in one hour upon release....if I was Microsoft I would butt heads with Todd like crazy! They were probably gonna release it for Xbox but Bethesda fucked up everything with the Next Gen update and added a couple new game-breaking bugs that made this mod unplayable. I could be wrong, but I don't think it was made totally clear in this video; if you already have Fallout 4 with all DLCs, you DO NOT need to get Fallout 4 goty edition, not on GOG or Steam. And, you don't need to buy it on GOG if you already have it on Steam. By the gods, I wouldn't have already put so many hours into it if I had to pay so much for Fallout goty just to play a free mod. I'm absolutely loving Folon! It's probably my favorite Fallout game so far, I just absolutely love the vibe of it and it's so fun. It feels more like Fallout than Fallout 4 does, imo. :3

Tell that to the people who didn't get a refund for breach & clear (and god know what else games don't work properly there) because apparently it works on the supports computer flawlessly - and if it doesn't work for you you better use their app to fix it which not only defeats the point of being DRM free but also brings the issue that their app really likes to bug out on some updates and is unusable for weeks at a time - and don't you dare telling them that other versions of the game do work, because then it's also automatically your fault that their installer doesn't work, all the reports of it not working doesn't even matter to them. For an actually customer oriented platform you solely got steam, possibly the XBox app as well. GOG got the benefit of installers for DRM free games being smaller than full installs which is the only option on steam, got to give that to them (for when it works obviously). I used to really like GOG before I figured out that their support and money back guarantee is an absolute lie, I solely use it if I'm forced to nowadays (product not existing anywhere else).

Even with the GOG version I had to install Buffout which it self required a previous version of the script extender than the one you automatically get from nexus but it ran fine after that, i could see some texture issues to but I really cannot complain. I'll play a few more hours to see if everything runs fine and I'll be donating 50Eur. they deserve it. Big thanks to Folon.

After playing for two days on this mod, I really enjoy it and it's testing my English since I'm American and not familiar with a lot of British slang. I've run in to a lot of problems getting this to work. Two major problems: 1. If you install buffout 4, you will either have to remove the baka scrapheap the game installs, or you will have to adjust the settings file of Buffout. 2. For some reason, any F4SE plugin mod does not work when I have them installed via MO2. I've had to manually install these and everything works. Since I've fixed these, I haven't had as many crashes as before. I'm still getting weird textures though on some things. I wouldn't be surprised if this mod is considered canon after awhile.

It took me some time to get it working, and there are bugs. I have now been playing it for a bit, and yes, it is well worth playing. So after trying to get it to work with my Steam copy, I gave up. So I also got a copy of GOG; it was worth it. This makes it very easy to load and then play and now it own thing on my gaming library and yes drop the team a tip Now work around for the train, and it crashes to the desk top. Do not get on the train, save the game, exit the game, and then boot Fallout 4. Reset your visual settings to low, then get on the train in Fallout London. Save the game, exit the game, and reset your visual settings in Fallout 4. Load the save you made after the train ride and golden.

@@williamyoung9401 I cannot answer all of those questions, but I can try to explain zipping/unzipping: Basically when you zip a file, you compress it to save space. But you cannot use it in that state. Think how you are folding pants before putting them somewhere. You do it to save space, but you cannot wear folded pants, so you have to unfold it first. Or unzip it in the case of a file. For us end users of files it means we just have to unzip it to where it is needed. You dont need the zipped version of it afterwards either.

Parts of this "mod" are confusing and feel a bit too much but, once I got it to stop crashing, it's overall (so far) a pretty awesome experience.

@@fatalgravity I used the Buffout 4 mod or whatever it's called. After I installed the mod I tried to run the game from the F4SE.exe (as admin) in the Fo4 file location but that didn't seem to fix it so I just tried running the game via GOG (I'm using a Steam GOTY copy of Fo4, btw) and since then it hasn't crashed at all. Apparently there's no clear cut way to get it to work for everyone since I've read about 5 different variations of "fixes" that involve the Buffout mod but if you just experiment with different solutions, hopefully you can make it work as well. Good luck.

I have the game on GOG, I've managed to play about 5 hours of it so far. Honestly what they've achieved is amazing, it really is a DLC sized mod and the quality is on par with, or exceeds Bethesda most of the time. The only big problem right now is the crashing. I've experienced very frequent crashes while playing, and at this point I'm actually unable to continue because my game has stared crashing partway through loading any save. I know you mentioned Buffout 4, I tried installing it but it doesn't seem to have had an effect. It's possible I screwed something up, I wasn't really following a guide. I have really haven't had time to sit down and troubleshoot it yet, but I'll try following that guide you mentioned.

Just started playing yesterday and the ONLY glaring problems I've seen is entering the first subway station and seeing a HUGE BANNER about how Mass Fusion powers Boston. And then seeing copies of the Boston Bugle on the counter at The Shard. I purchased a third copy of F4 to play this (didn't own the DLC) and I'm glad I did. Even using GOG I had some crashes to desktop, but I'm past those now and the mod feels very exciting. (Also, if you're reading this today, the mod team has put the Buffout stuff into the base game now, so don't worry about having to figure that out.) I've only done a single hour, but I'm already getting that old familiar (Bethesda) feeling of settling into the chair ready to explore something new. Isn't it funny how Starfield has never caused me to feel that way, not once?
