Yeah, Robert is shanking that Ranger a few miles down the road, and I honestly can't even find fault because getting that drunk on prisoner retrieval duty makes me wonder how he survived long enough to earn the Black armor in the first place lol. The writing for this quest desperately needed an editor. The way NPCs like Robert talk comes off as unnaturally smug and wordy. If there was some way for me to help these modders with it I'd do it myself if nobody else would.

The dialogue for this mod felt really strange. Disjointed. Like, why should the player bother? Why should I give two shits about some ex-brotherhood guy that got himself enslaved? What’s his crime, aside from being boring to talk to? I’d get more enjoyment from just doming every legionnaire at the place.

Yeah, you said it. The biggest issue I saw was that the characters aren't compelling, relatable or likable. My first reaction to both was exactly what you described: "Why would I care to get involved with either of these guys?" One character is being overly smarmy and antisocial for no valid reason, despite it actually being detrimental to his mission. The other is being overly confident, pushy and "oh-so-clever" about everything around him to a level where he's pretty much metagaming with hus "guesses." There's no way that annoying old turd wouldn't have gotten killed by the Legion since he clearly can't help but babble on and on in a pseudo-domineering manner, even when he has a frigging bomb collar around his neck, no weapons and dirty rags for "armor." And the whole thing was, as you said, disjointed. Not just the dialogue but the whole situation. If the player has to go around almost forcefully prying the quest out of the related characters in a certain order it isn't exactly fun to play.

I have a question for Mike. I'm curious about the Hope companion you use. It seems to have at least started as the Hope Lies companion. However there is nothing I have found about Hope Lies that indicates she becomes a ghoul after her quest, much less a Robot using assetts from a cringy sexbot mod. Am I right in suspecting that you made alterations to the mod or just replaced the mod altogether? If so have you uploaded your version of Hope anywhere? Thanks.

The ghoul and robot changes were done by Mike as part of the New Vegas storyline and not part of the original mod. Hope was also renamed to ‘King of Spain’ for quite some time.
