dont know if this was mentioned but the thing about leaving the cave before being annihilated by the explosion is that it pauses everything that was going on inside the cave so even if you waited for hours outside the cave the moment you entered the cave the explosion would still go off, the same goes for leaving any interior cell or anything like that so as soon as you exit the cell everything is paused inside it
