Just remember that this NCR was still better equipped and skilled than the ones in the Mojave. 4 of them working together killed One Knight where as the Mojave NCR needed 15:1 ratio. The NCR here had mounted machine guns and long ranged 7.62 rifles and some laser weapons, they also had an automated anti air missile system that shot down a Verti-Bitrd. Make no mistake this show made a rag tag group of NCR extremely competent without needing Rangers like the Mojave NCR needed.

The games were limited by technical limitations. The NCR in the game had vertabirds, armored trucks, and technicals, but was limited by the game engine in only showing them statically or in prerendered animations like Kimball's speech. Also in the game the majority of NCR forces (at least the Rangers) were in Baja fighting on another front, leaving just a holding force in the Mojave. In the show the NCR definitely gave it as good as they got though.

I still find the Bear scene that mortally wounds Titus to be a great foreshadowing of the seasons end find. As well potential for the things to come. Like the Brotherhood, the ideals and dreams of the NCR live on. Shady Sands may have been where the capital of those dreams lived. But it does not mean it cant return.

@@wesleycanada3675 Yeah, by the time of NV it's heavily implied/outright stated that Vault City, Redding, New Reno, most likely even Modoc and Klamath are under NCR control. And they're fighting to expand their borders in Baja. That would mean that they stretch from southern Oregon all the way down south of modern California's borders. And we saw how advanced they were back in the home area in Fallout 2 as well as the short clip in the show. Hard to believe that anything short of a Great War 2.0 would take them out, they'd have to take out a LOT of cities.

The second largest military force depicted in the show was flying the NCR flag, they seem to have loyalists everywhere, and the show only depicts one region of the NCR's old territory. For all we know they still control all of NorCal, because the show doesn't go there or discuss it at all. As for New Vegas, the Lucky 38 is literally still standing. The audience doesn't know things because the characters don't know things.

The NCR might be dissolved, we don't know. As for New Vegas, the end credits of at least one episode show the ruins of New Vegas with no people at all around. So from what we've seen so far, it looks destroyed.

Could be, we don't know the exact timeline but NCR was definitely an aggressive power whose main achilles heel was overextending, so a lot of forces likely weren't at the capital. That said, we don't really see any rangers around (I have a feeling the two wearing the veteran ranger helmets were just scavengers, not former rangers) and the rangers (Desert and NCR) were always the real power of the NCR military. Wonder if too many were in Shady Sands and got wiped out? Or maybe they formed their own faction.

We see that loyalists still exist, and Todd Howard said this isn't the end of the NCR. The NCR is probably at its lowest point and will make a comeback in season 2. Also the HQ where the battle took place isn't the last bastion of the NCR, because that's all it is, an HQ. It's not like it's their capital or anything, it's just a base of operations. Also, I'm a believer of the theory that the Shady Sands that fell in the show is a different city from the actual one. Apparently the original Shady Sands chanted it's name to NCR, and then became to capital of *the* NCR, so the city that got nuked is just named after the original and isn't the same place. Of course, it was an important city that dealt a huge blow to the NCR

@fredgilbert2032 well Seymour Johnson, Camp Lejeune and Cherry point are very close and VERY big (prime first strike targets) so they are all out...I was thinking in terms of the "Castle" style Fort Macon would be larger and more defendable than the one in FO4 also we have our own institute....*(also real...and real scary) The combo of BD research and GlaxoSmithKline...both VERY scary......but I suspect the coast would be very much a glowing crater due to the strategic fuel reserves, military, and finance locations....I think Fort Knox would be cool to visit in a Fallout game but that is up north more.

@@doomlover9762 Very nice, I had forgotten about Red Star! My only "disappointment" in this season was that we didn't get to see any Veteran Rangers utterly obliterating whatever they face. In NV a squad of Veteran Rangers can beat a squad of BoS easy (Anti-materiel rifle versus.... materiel, heh). In the show the only time the veteran ranger helmet showed up, I literally said "Yes!!!" out loud, only for it to be revealed that it was a run down overweight scavenger who gets dunked on by Coop in his only scene.

In no possible case could BoS could even put their foot out of Lost Hills, let alone take over Adytum and Boneyard. The show is a fucking softporn for Bethesda by "making" themselves "canon". I am not a NCR fan, I was critical of it like even since Fallout 2, what now is butchered is not NCR, but Fallout as a thoughtful and nuanced fiction.
