There's actually a lot that suggests VT doesn't drop the first bomb. For those interested: - Janey's not in a vault when the bombs drop. (Barb is so influential that I'd hesitate to imagine any world in which she okays the bomb being dropped with her daughter unsecured) - Vaults were unfinished. (VT wants to secure the investments of its shareholders and the experiments within) - Mr. House misspredicted the bombs being dropped. (if there was prediction at all that means someone beat VT to the punch, assuming VT informed him of their date) - We are not shown VT detonating a bomb, even if they intended to.

In the end, House was more "right" than Vault-Tec, his AA defenses managed to make Vegas stand the test of time, while many of the vaults failed.
@battlesheep25526 ай бұрын
I suspect it's a little more complex than that. Vault-Tec built vaults for whoever commissioned them. While the investors here were looking to build vaults that could protect a population indefinitely, a lot of the vaults were commissioned by the Enclave who had other plans. They simply wanted to use the vaults as large scale social experiments, and whether or not the population survived was inconsequential. I think this is the reason why a great many vault experiments seemed to be just about throwing science to the wall and seeing what sticks.

Hell, had House possessed his platinum chip the day before the bombs fell (it was scheduled to be delivered one day after what became the day the bombs dropped, to his detriment), his anti-warhead servers would've had the upgrades they needed in order to avoid the absolute worst facets of the Great War's onset. In canon, they burned out and forced House and his Vegas Strip HQ to enter a centuries-long slumber after deactivating 95% of the warheads heading his way in canon, so without that major setback, he'd not only have gone the full 100% on the nukes and leave most of Nevada preserved from radiation damage, but also have had almost two centuries of additional time capitalizing on the fallout while Vault-Tec was still in stage one.

To be honest, House's voice in the games seems slightly "computerised" or whatever you'd call it, which makes sense as you're not speaking to him directly. @@braxtonhamilton4325 Robert House in the game, wasn't an evil character and probably wouldn't be cool with destroying the world. In his eyes he is going to be on top anyways because he is by far the most competent character in Fallout. Instead of vaults, House spent his money developing technology that would protect people from the bombs so they wouldn't have to go underground in the first place. He wasn't able to complete his work in time and only had the resources to save downtown Las Vegas. He isn't exactly a good person, he's super hungry for power, but at the same time his motivations are fairly noble, wanting to rebuild the worlds industries to build starships to find new worlds that haven't been poisoned by war. He's a more morally grey character that wants to take over the world, by force if necessary, but rather by wit.

I kind of like this interpretation of House's motives and predictions over what he says in Fallout: New Vegas. Even years ago, when I first heard him explain how he knew the end of the world was coming through statistical models, I thought "Oh, come on!". This scene makes far more sense as all it does is affirm the age-old adage that the best way to predict the future is to create it. The idea that someone could statistically predict the end of the world, down to the exact day, years in advance, within a margin of error of a couple hours is simply unbelievable. I don't care how smart that someone is. Being smart and having a solid command of statistics doesn't make one Nostradamus.

Real question....if your mixing real NV dialogue and A.I. Can you create John Henry Eden blended with his actors lines, and possibly other films... To recreate JHE voice? And if done well enough.... Could that then be used perhaps to integrate into the idea of a mod in which the fallout 4 survivor travels to raven rock and through certain means similar to Curie... Uploads some measure of JHE into a synth body? I've always wondered at that prospect as a mod, factor in the option of repairing eden be it wholly original or stripping the genocidal enclave mentality programming if one could then create a humanoid companion that could be by patriotic example a leadership idol...perhaps for the minutemen or even integrated into existing enclave mods... another thing to consider why his voice is different, it's basically an AI that speaks his words during New Vegas, probably made after the bombs dropped because he realized staying outside or even in the Tops wasn't safe due to the radiation, so he could've been quite a few years older than in the show because of how long it would take him to make the tops into his HQ and to automate it with police bots so he could lie in his pseudo-coffin for the rest of his life until the Courier drives an Iron 9 into his skull repeatedly.
