Falmouth Town Centre 1930s Drivers POV Cine Film C1930 1930 F350 b

Some interesting footage of Falmouth Town Centre taken about 1930. Someone just sets up a camera in their car and simply drove around the town for a while (I think they start out of Pendennis Road into Melvill Rd....it looks like they had been staying at the Holmlea Hotel).
Film of this age often has missing splices, and has deteriorated, so please bear with the quality...not as good as it could be, but better than nothing.
It is fascinating to see how ordinary life was 90 years ago.

Thanks for the kind feedback, I am just glad that this has brought some memories back (not necessarily from the 1930s of course!) As for the thumbs down...I guess it is all part of YT, but on a video like this which is not really covering a contentious issue (where I would expect a balance of opinions), I think it would be nice if the person that left this had also said what it is they disliked...because you just can't know otherwise!

lol.. were the hell is Arnenack Street? I think you mean Arwenack Street.. :D I remember the moor looking like that in the seventies. The fountain there then the gents toilets beneath and then the war memorial a little way up.

My memories are from the 50s/60s when it was a car dealership. I remember seeing Paddy Hopkirk's 1964 Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini on display in the front window.

@@grahamdougall5446 I remember it as a car dealership and there was a very steep ramp that went down to a mechanics workshop underneath. When it closed there was a story in the local paper that Larry Grayson wanted to open a nightclub there. 🙂
