Yesterday as I was dealing with real event ocd a memory came up in my mind that has never come up before. In my panic, I was so sure that it happened, and I felt horrible about it even tho there were no consequences or proof of that thing ever happening. In fact, it's quite the opposite. As I had a talk with my mother and calmed down the memory started becoming more vague and I started remembering it less as a memory and more of a scenario. Today when I woke up I genuinely don't remeber that thing as a memory but like a scenario that my brain made up out of panic and anxiety as there is short of proof that it never happened. This has never happened to me before and I'm shocked that OCD yesterday might have cooked up a horrible act that I did as a child and label it as a memory even tho there is no proof or consequences of that thing ever happening but I have a little proof that it never happened. This is a first for me and honestly I felt scared but Nathan is right. It would be unfair to punish ourselves for something that we may have never done. We're living life today and we shouldn't care if it really happened because at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter. Live your life today ❤. Thank you Nathan for all your help, it really means a lot❤️🙏

I don’t know if I can accept my false memory content. It is absolutely horrific and abhorrent. I just want to turn myself to the police.

I’ve spent ALL day worrying if I left my bedroom door open (I live in a multiple residency hostel) and was talking to my neighbours downstairs with my room key in my hand. As my key was going into the door I panicked and wondered if my door was locked the whole time and worried someone went in my room even if they didn’t Once I got over that doubt I started doubting if I had my scarf on whilst talking to my neighbours downstairs. This thought only popped up now 8 hours later 😭 . It’s like once I’ve gotten over one anxiety rumination another starts

I will agree that this type of OCD is beyond difficult and my only solace is knowing that I will overcome it. My journey hasn’t come with an expiration date, but I believe freedom will come. I believe the same for all of you. Take each of these experiences one day at a time and keep pressing on. No matter how difficult, keep pressing. We’ll get through this! 🫂 ❤

I agree I’ve struggled with it for years and years and we just have to constantly remind ourselves that we are always gonna be ourselves at the end of the day,and our brain loves to make nonsense to scare us but just remember to always remind yourself it didn’t happen or whichever scenario you’re mind is creating

I don’t have ocd but I’m going thought something similar like this 😭
@duygugenc40612 жыл бұрын
But I almost never feel like I may have done it. I mostly feel that I did it. I wish it was ''maybe i did'' so i could practise accepting uncertainity... I highly believe that i did a certain act with a unappropriate manner, mostly with cheating ocd..
