Thank you for posting about this. I had a prior chemical pregnancy and decided to test after feeling nausea subside one morning only to discover a much fainter test. I had a memory of my boss telling me she drank a ton of water after a faint test and the test turned out much darker so that is what I did and it worked! I am guessing it is the same concept to be so hydrated your urine is clear and diluting it afterwords. I should have been thanking my lucky stars for the nausea subsiding bc that didn’t last long 😂

They say test in the morning, don’t drink too much water , etc. I tested 2 evenings and 2 mornings and the lines were clearly more visible at night - that means a rollercoaster of emotions for me because I was afraid something is not well with the pregnancy. But HCG does not fluctuate - it continually rises. So the difference in the color of the line is clearly caused by something else. (the damn tests) Oh! And this morning, with my most concentrated urine (I am extremely thirsty) I noticed that the test took a looong time to absorb the urine compared to yesterday evening. This is my 12th day past ovulation. I’ll be back with more info

@@CaelaCook I literally just used my last test with diluted urine. It’s clearly better than the one I took 2 hours earlier with super concentrated urine (almost negative). This one came out positive easier, faster, the line is faint but you can see it from a distance . I must mention again I am only 11-12 DPO so no matter what I do it’s not gonna get super dark. PS: The method works. I’ll try again in 2 days.

This is 13 DPO (still very early). I did the experiment with early morning urine and 2 identical tests. Concentrated one - annoyingly faint again. Diluted with water 😏 - Oh, Yeah! The best test line I got so far. The difference is clear to anyone, not just a ‘maybe’ . But why???? (😳 Wait ! Some people say it happens with twins! I am not prepared! I have two children plus a 1 year old ! ) 😊 this is my 4th child . ( 🙄if it’s not twins)

Could I get some advice, I’m only 7DPO but getting symptoms and body just doesn’t feel right, did a test at 8am quite a clear but still faint line, to say positive, me being a psycho tested an hour later & it was more faint but there and then tested at 4pm and it was negative, I’m like freaking out now. I did use two different brands of tests tho I feel like that could be why, I’d be coming up to 3 weeks. Thank you

Any faint line is still considered positive. That same sequence of events happened to me so keep testing!

sorry for the late reply. I don't know exactly when this hook effect starts to become prevalent. I would guess at 4 weeks your line should be strong, however if your periods aren't super regular you may not be exactly 4 weeks. The doctors were a month off of my due date when they calculated based on my last period.

My last period or implanted bleeding was july 25th i took a test on that day of bleeding and it came out a very bold positive. July 31th took another that came positive. September 4th i test that positive line got lighter until you almost can't see the line. I should be 7 weeks today and my fist appointment is October 4th. Should i be worry?
