Very helpful. Love my new Exodus camera I purchased this year. Did experience faulty pics some but this at least clears things up.

Right on .. now I know what a PIR Sensor is, and how it's what's responsible for almost driving me nuts !!

I have my trail cam set to medium sensitivity and every time a damn insect flies near it triggers the camera . I wind up with nearly 200 pictures in a single night. which is a big battery drain

Excellent video! I recently got a trail camera. I was only googling for the defintion of "PIR" (Passive infrared) and your video showed up. I watched your entire video and I did learn some things. Thank you! ("Passive infrared" being one of the things I learned....also that excellent testing method of putting the camera somewhere motionless to test for a faulty PIR sensor.) I especially liked that daytime clip of the antlers right close to the camera. Thanks again, I appreciate this video that you published.

Very helpful. I bought a brand new Exodus Render bundle this year and a few months ago put it out in the field and got a ton of faulty pics to the point it blew through all my data, energizer lithium’s, and drained my SP18. Double checked all my settings so I guess I’ll dry the dead zone thing.

Is it possible for a camera to go off because of shadows moving so fast due to the wind blowing so hard on a bright sunny day?

That is good to know! What about if I have pink pictures throughout the day? Is that the PIR sensor failing?
@ExodusOutdoorGear4 жыл бұрын
Great question, if there’s a pink hue in daytime pictures- it very likely a stuck IR filter. We’ll have a video covering this topic very soon and we’ll link it in the comments!

I have a denver trail camera and it really frustrates me that he makes me hundreds of photos of nothing every day. Namely, I have noticed that it is activated at the slightest movement of grass or leaves, so I turn it off regularly. Any advice? Sorry for my language, google translator :)

Will this cameras detect change and trigger to take a photo if it's right behind a car window/windshield? Can you test that?

Those chinese cams actually don't have 3 pir sensors, just 3 fresnel lenses. Behind them is still just the single pir sensor. I've been using those cams more and more now, and actually just opened one up.

No mention of ambient temperature. On sunny, really hot West Texas days of >95 degrees, I get continuous pictures due to false triggers. Any solutions?

great info! what about the opposite situation: NOT getting ANY pics or very few - even though I physically watch a group of deer in front of the cam for 15 minutes moving constantly, cam 15-20 from them and get 2 pics . I've tried a full "reset" to factory settings, new high quality alkaline batteries, then set to 5 sec frequency, etc. Cam is 3ish years old, out in TX heat year round. PIR toast? Just time to send it to camera heaven?

Memory error even after formatting, have a toguard-H85 and brand new 32gb sd/sdhc cards, even though manual says it will take up a 32 GB card, I'm wondering if maybe I should go down to a 16gb card..maybe this will finally get the results I was hoping for...????
@PnwOnTour3 жыл бұрын
Lower end cameras are hit and miss, try formatting the card on a computer 🖥 try another card, quality class 10, also your x3 pir are only x2 inside the camera, use a laser pointer from the center pir to aim it.

Ya got that new firmware ready yet? My camera does the "stuck in time lapse mode" and takes pics every 30 seconds. Thx.

@@ExodusOutdoorGear I have the Render. Discussed issues w Scoutek, he knew about the issue.
@chadsyl234 жыл бұрын
Mr Push the issue is a voltage signal, the camera is not “stuck in TL” Shoot an email to our customer service and we’ll resolve the issue.

My lift II cameras seem like they will continue to take more pictures or another video with little or no delay as long as there is still movement in front of the camera.

Be sure to check the burst count setting and trigger delay. If you need support, please send us an email at info@exodusoutdoorgear.com

Exodus Trail Cameras I normally run on a two photo burst but lately I’ve been running only on video. Burst count only applies to photos right?
@ExodusOutdoorGear4 жыл бұрын
That’s correct, if you have some examples send them over we’ll take a look.

Exodus Trail Cameras is the delay on video from the start of a video or after the video ends. So say I have a 30 second delay and 20 second video would there be a 10 second delay after that video ends or the full 30?
@ExodusOutdoorGear4 жыл бұрын
bowhuntingforlife good question, it would be the full 30 seconds. The trigger delay starts after the photo/video event is completed.
