I lived in Manhattan in 1981, met my husband that year. We lived through the AIDS drama of real life on the Upper West Side. This show speaks to me on So many different levels. Saw this production on Broadway shortly after it opened. Crazy, Intense, Wonderful . Just like it was in 1990 as Falsettoland at the Lucille Lortel, and when it first moved to Broadway as Falsettos in 1992. Saw the original casts of each, and each production multiple times (1 time with Mandy Patinkin as Marvin), saw the road companies that came to Philadelphia........etc...lol Freakin Love this Show. ❤❤❤

man. I was the lighting designer for a production of this show last winter and it remains my proudest moment, ever, in any regard. I was Really REALLY mentally ill over this show in middle and high school, and if you'd told younger me I would one day be working on a production of it, I'd have passed out. not really sure what my point is here, but this show means the world to me, and it's an odd (but good) feeling to know you're living the things your younger self could barely dream of :)

I can't believe I've never seen this before. I've sobbed all the way through the second act. Such strong memories of my dear friend Sammy, who died in 1993. The last time I visited him with my kids, he asked if he could change my daughter's diaper, and afterwards he cried because I wasn't afraid. It hits so hard for those of us who were young adults when AIDS came on the scene. People were afraid to be in the same room with someone who had it, much less to touch them. It made hand holding and hugs mean so much more. Bless you, my friend. I still miss your sweetness. 💜

taking more than the prescribed amount is not a good idea! (idk in what way in your case because I'm going the other way but I'm pretty sure that still applies)

I’m convinced that the people who don’t cry while watching falsettos at least once are actual robots

OH MY LORD. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME WATCHING THIS AND I SEE MYSELF IN JASON, (my parents are currently in the divorce process and I am in a range of 11-15,) and I have sat, either in the room or in my room with my parents so “Marvin hits Trina” especially after the slap since I have heard I think my mom get slapped once and I cried, and also 1:04:41, especially “I hate the world, I love my dad.” Because I have felt that I hate the world too many times, and I do love my dad, and I love my mom, and sometimes I hate them, I love my parents but I can’t pick a side, but I feel like I have To, theater is a big distraction from my family life and I think of my cast mates as a family but that’s besides the point, I really do see myself in Jason and it’s so sad to see this, Update 1, 1:07:46 My dad will talk to me, maybe I’ll be sobbing and he’ll ask me to sit down and I always hated it, because what difference does it make? And he’d pat the seat or something the same way so this just really reminds me. And it’d make me cry more, I’d yell cry, “WHY? WHY DO I HAVE TO SIT! I CAN HEAR YOU JUST THE SAME STANDING” and it always hurt but I had to, and actually, this wasn’t that far in the past this still happens and I don’t know what to do about it. And it just really pains me. 1:37:30 the whole call the applebaums thing and THE CARTWHEEL?? hilarious. I love it. Trauma? Not talking about it, divorce, nah, Brandon’s cartwheel? Hell yeah‼️

Maybe they delete them every so often so it doesn’t get too much traction. It’s probably how this has lasted so long.
