I remember him. He did a bunch of stuff. [ My mom worked at KMOX-TV, for many years. I actually remember when they moved from the old place on Cole St. to Memorial Drive [ #1]. 📻🙂

What a great mellow sound to Tom's voice. I didn't appreciate it so much - what? 50 years ago. Just listening to him brings me back to a different time and place. RIP, Tom!

These clips were from 1966. The Niners-Lions game was on November 24 of that year.

Additionally the Bears at Packers aired because the Cardinals were on bye week. Would've still been shown had Big Red played a home game because of the blackout rules.

The music sounds a lot like "Melancholy Serenade", Jackie Gleason's theme

Boy, what delivery. Every word uttered by Mr. Smooth is so carefully crafted and intoned. Very much like the J. Peterman character (John O'Hurley) on Seinfeld...

"The Tapper" was a big failure. They charged a small deposit for them (much less than the cost of producing them) and people never brought them back. They would use them to make decorative lamps or just wouldn't bother to return them. Falstaff ended up losing a ton of money.
