I must own roughly 10% of all views on this video across all platforms... It's so amazing to watch the nuances in all their glory. As the late great MF Doom would say... You've got more soul than a sock with a hole.

Thank you sir, I never thought I could learn or maybe understand how you do it but the way you break it down in your lessons is just amazing and clear, making it easy for us to learn from the master.

Hi Ben, F is definitely the "men's" key , specially when playin on a cheap guitare and unplugged , but with the one you play here, it looks easy ;) Hope to meet you for real one day, , in France would be like a dream coming true ;) Thanks for all the work you 've shared on the internet, only pure stuff !!! Mathieu from Marseille France

Just found the "No Guitar is Safe " podcast and heard your interview. I'm now a huge fan and to now find this tutorial makes me super stoked man!!! I'm subscribed and a fan, hope to see more tutorials and maybe see you play in CT some time! Peace brother

I found Ben through Jude's podcast too (also in CT). I've always been fascinated by trying to play many simple parts at once, and also Funk. Love the Funk. He takes it to a new level by mixin' em' together like pb&j or pb&chocolate or maybe even the coveted Fluffernutter. Seriously, those are some serious chops, Ben. I'd love to see you here in Ct. Going to check out Tommy E next week. I find both your styles incredibly inspiring.

Ben may I ask how you pop the strings on the 2’s and 4’s while playing that funky melody. I can’t seem to get my strings to pop like the snare with the melody going at the same time, it’s one or the other. If you could help a fellow guitarist that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
@NickBannan376 жыл бұрын
I think he is hammering on the high note with his pinky finger at the same time as doing the pop snare. He doesn't pluck the high note at all with his right hand, he just hammers on the pinky really hard to get it to ring out. It's bloody difficult and takes a lot of strength and accuracy in the pinky finger, I'm struggling with it but he makes it super easy
@dannybighair4 жыл бұрын
@@NickBannan37 Pretty sure he's plucking it
@majr60453 жыл бұрын
@@dannybighair sometimes he picks it, but when he actually plays it, the note sounds very subued like a quick hammer on

LOL at clapping on 1 and 3. I subbed on bass for a band that played Car Wash. Song starts with claps on 2 and 4 but they all thought claps were on 1 and 3. Even after I showed them 2 and 4 and even while I counted they could not get it right. And yes, they were all white.
