believe it or not, I do remember your video on the first one. It made me want to get the game complete because I like weirdly specific game accessories. I feel the same about this sequel. I also want it complete in box. I don't have either yet... some day though!

Why didn’t Nintendo make a mahjong game where you can play against Nintendo characters and each one with their own style? That would have been popular among players!

Nintendo does continue their own series of mahjong games (their next one is episode 806), but they never did that.

Yakuman DS is Mahjong featuring Nintendo characters, each with their own style of play. But yeah that's way after famicom. And it's straight mahjong, no powerups like fireballs or bananas or Daisy-sass.
