At first this is a very special kind of austrian german... there´s a lake named Wolfgangsee and around there, the people are singing and talking in this dialect The second thing, the lyrics: This song (Landler) has about 1500 verses or more, named "G´stanzln" ... @mtdburnett the dialect is typical Salzkammergut dialect. It is very hard to translate the lyrics into english because they are partly old fashioned and sung since more than 30 years originally. German version is no problem, i have maybe 300 of them in my textbooks

Diese Form vom Aberseer Landler ist sicher eine Kommerzielle, aber die Familie Laimer lebt von ihrer Musik und vom Wirtshaus, wer den echtn Salzkammergutlandler genießen will, sollte sich die Altausseer Volkstantzgruppe ansehen, denn das ist die Form des Landlers wie er im innersten Salzkammergut früher und heute noch getanzt wird.

Leider mit elektro-Verstärkung, das mögen die Fans "echter Volksmusik" gar nicht gern, schon gar nicht bei Musiktiteln des 17./18.Jahrhunderts...

it´s because the lyrics are sung in a very rare salzkammergut dialekt. it´s built like a typical so called "gstanzl" from this area. they don´t translate into german or even english, but i can try :) pfiat di

Aber von der Zither hört man im kompletten Lied genau NICHTS, NULL nicht einen Ton. Ähnliches gilt für die Alte mit der Gitarre. Also was soll die billige Schauspielerei?
