Families having kids will say good-bye to 11.280 lei in tax exemptions

In its fiscal policy for 2021, the Ministry of Finance has proposed to cancel the personal tax exemptions which an adult family member may award to his/her partner. As much as 11,280 lei is at stake. The measure is expected to fill an extra 130 million lei into the public budget. The authority argues that it would push people to work - though experts warn that the measure is hasty in the COVID context and will hit the families with kids.
