Families of Russian conscripts have taken to social media to complain about the poor conditions facing their loved ones. They say that the soldiers have not received proper training, lack basic military gear, and have to find their own food and water.

These scenes clearly demonstrate that weaknesses of Russian society, and the capacity to provide for basic necessities of it's military personnel. This first round of mobilized recruits will suffice through perhaps the end of January or into February. Most of these men will be deceased, wounded or too broken down by the climatic elements in combination with malnutrition to be of much use for the Spring. The second wave of mobilization is inevitably about to occur within the next 60 days or so.

Certainly it bothers the Kremlin as the narrative is awful, but at the basic human level, any Russian citizen that can see these pleas of desperation by their own citizens is beneficial. I don't know what will come from the broadcast of these videos, as Russia is a repressed society that lives in fear of the military/police state, but maybe each video is a small chink in the state's protective armor.
