we say: because of a stupid head, hands work. Before viewing, I thought they would do something really worthy of attention, but it turned out as usual... Stupid and tasteless, and I also doubt the integrity of the project after a couple of years, due to interference with capital fragments. the designer among these workers is a very untalented creature who has no taste, no sense of style, no sense of the integrity of the designed object.

When you close a staircase it is often the case that you want to insulate. And keep the heator sound in place. But why then stretch a net in another place to separate the floors. Mmm,,,

i not horrified as others. After all insulation plus plus including ground floor making house fit for 21st century. Stairs will just let heat upstairs in winter. With the price of energy going up and up we have make adjustments. As to what others have said about wrap for ceilings placement i think they are right, but i'm not a builder!

Утепление дома несущих стен изнутри неприемлемо снижает его массивность с точки зрения теплотехники. Получили в результате свойства обыкновенного каркасника с его негативными сторонами. Летом в доме не обойтись без кондиционирования, а межсезонье избыточно будет дом отапливать. 😢

To things to mention for re-roofing job: The old rafters are bowing in quite significantly, so, wood is already given up its integrity, in such cases it is not about reinforcement, it is about replacement needed. Considering the choice to use heavy slates and additional window, it all seems to be too heavy. You put an insulation between rafters in the attic without any counter-lattice and moisture preventing membrane on the outside. So, you insulate non-vented wood, where moisture, gathering on the cold side of the construction, will be trapped in, and will have no other way but damage the wood. Good luck with this roof, I suppose you will need it.

Many roof problems ahead? Why did they skip the sheeting on the outside of the roof trusses? Just strapping and slate tiles? The insulation is right up against the roof tiles? Odd. Where I live, that would only invite trapped moisture. So sad that they cheaped out where it really matters... and as another said, the trusses themselves looked rather compromised? I am no builder. Perhaps I just don't understand...

Meanwhile I agree with you on preserving the look of the house, most of the time the integrity of the house goes against. I am not sure how much it would had cost to keep the house in the old form given that most of the things used in the old days are not around anymore. Myslím že takýto kus osobnosti a majestátnosťi, naplnený históriou, krásnym rezbárskym umením a priestranostou prerobiť na lôžkoví vlak je previnením voči architektúre. Myšlienka autora je dobrá, svojská, plná moderných prvkov a nápadov, ale výber budovy na takúto rekonštrukciu krajne nevhodný. Tá sieť je zaujímavý nápad no za to zrezané zábradlie a schody pre mňa nepochopiteľné.

Дом шикарный, но многие решения как стилистические так и практические довольно спорны, да и сделано многое с большими ошибками. Очень скоро это даст о себе знать. Работа и затраты огромные, сочувствую, но это жизнь. На ошибках учатся. Не ошибается только тот кто ничего не делает.

Really bad. Bathrooms are without sinks. Bed under that downward angle drywall. Shower is horrible, too small and WTF with that step up? You've chopped up floor space and stuck counters where they cannot be used. Stairs are a disaster. Net rope thing is a disaster waiting to happen.

So much work and craftsmanship went into this. And yet I am so disappointed with the result. Why put the bed in that puny corner? Make it a center piece of the room. And the slate wall built under a perfectly healthy wall... If it's for only styling purposes, just put facade stones on top of the wall at the bottom... Takes 3 hours instead of days!

They took what COULD HAVE BEEN a beautiful restoration of a historical old building and turned it into a HIDEOUS eyesore!!! I hope they enclosed the property inside a high wall so the neighbors don't have to see it and throw up every time they pass by!

It is NOT my style either. Our home was built 29 years ago and has low flow showers, dual flush toilets, solar panels, LED lighting, a SEER 21 HVAC, etcetera and has a timeless design that won’t go out of vogue in a few years.

why you liked it, that was unnecesary work and the walls won`t be as strong as they were now. They could have applied stone on the base to change the looks, easier and faster. This house is destroyed...

I've never seen a renovation that ended up looking this disjointed cluttered and aesthetically displeasing. Besides making the place one big fire hazard, they casually renovated areas, like the roof, that needed complete replacement. And what on earth did they do with all the space that was there in the beginning because the final result looked like an overdone pigeonhole. You do not renovate a house with historical significance by stripping it off its character with such cruelty. This is beyond heartbreaking.
