*”Family Challenge”* was a 1-hour game show featuring 2 families competing in a series of stunts and games. During the 1st season, Ray Combs was the host; Gene Wood was the announcer. The series was taped at Glendale Studios. When the show began its second season, on September 30, 1996, the title was changed to *”The New Family Challenge,”* and Michael Berger took over as host, with Charlie Glaize as announcer. The new season was taped outdoors at Universal Studios Hollywood. The stunts and games changed on each show, as did the number of points a team could win for completing an event. Stunts included the *”Slam Dunk Gunk Slide Game,” “The Balloon Hug Bust,”* and *”The Velcro Leap.”* The team with the most points at the end of the show received the *”Family Challenge Cup.”*
