After building RVs myself for the last 36 years, I'm always impressed by the custom building of units by content creators on KZbin. Of course Haxman did not disappoint and based on your skills, my expectations before watching the video were higher for you. Good Job!!! BTW you have a beautiful family, you're a lucky man.

Love your trailer. I have a 7x14 cargo camper conversion, and now I park it on my property that I just purchased this year and now use that as my office. I have a shower and 800 Watts solar setup, and can also use it to plug into any residential outlet or RV park. Works great!

I may have said this 2 years ago, so forgive if so, but I have a mod that you and your viewers might like to add to their trailer camper builds. First off, one of my sons owns a garage door business, and that's where this idea came from. I get a lot of his take-off parts before he trashes them! If you take a garage door raising tube cross tube with bearing brackets and pulleys and mount it either on the back wall over the rear doors or on the floor, under your bench, you can hook up a simple cheap 2000 lb Harbor Freight winch cable to a pull drum attached to the cross tube, and some small pulleys with plastic covered cable through some pulleys and raise that bunk bed up and down with the 4 cables attached at, or near, the corners of that bed frame. No springs needed. This way it can be raised or lowered by even your smallest child. And be stopped at any height so a taller person can sit at the dining table without hitting their head. And still leave room for the person on the bed, if the trailer height is extra tall like this. And if you cut your stop blocks and use several separate hinges, you can easily set stop blocks to set the bed on at different heights to lower the bed to, if you want. I've built a setup like this on my 17' cargo trailer I built a few years ago, so it would be a toy hauler and camper. Sold it to my son, and he has since sold it again this year after many years of use. The beauty of this is you can cut the length of the tube sown to any size that will fit to mount the tube lengthwise , the width of and bed, on the trailer, the width of the bed behind the drawer storage and just run cables through holes to get to the pulleys. Or just build the winch and cross tube in the underside of the bed frame. All kinds of possibilities.

Love this video!! I thank you for involving your Daughter’s in your process, Too many Dads these days only teach their sons or not even bothering with teaching their kids all these processes that can certainly aid in life’s adventures. I had to learn them by myself with many frustrations. (but now I have more power tools than my moms husband AND I know how to use them properly! Love your build! My Daughter and I will be starting our own build soon. Thank you!

Not sure how I landed on this page, but I’m very thankful I did. I think it was divinely appointed. This is very nice work. I want to make a small concession trailer, I know basic stuff about carpentry. I have built small rectangular small chicken coops and beds, and nice benches. Nothing fancy, just basic strong with clean edges type stuff. Your channel makes me want to try and make my own concession push cart to start then get my trailer when I can and convert and do work with my son and or daughters. I know I can do it. This encourages me so much. Thank you for sharing, and yall be safe with those hurricanes you’re prepping for. 🙏🏽 ❤.

Great video. A lot of interesting ideas. For the sliding lift bunk, you might get even more utility if you add an intermediate level by cutting the supports in half. Still use them both for full extension, or 1 of 2 for 1/2 lift. 1/2 lift would give increased ability to sit under the bunk, while preserving the ability to be in the bunk (at the same time).

A HUGE salute to you for teaching your daughters skills which too many people still consider for males only. I am the oldest of three girls and back when I was their age, over 50 years ago (cough, cough), most people frowned on my Dad teaching us "man work". God did the knowledge make a tremendous difference not only in what I could do, but if I had to hire someone, I knew if they were doing what I wanted done, correctly. Again, kudos to you sir! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Aunt Granny

My husband and I converted our 10 x 6 box trailer into a camp trailer in 2019 and had the same exact problem with bumping our heads on the door. Our solution was to install a screen that had a magnetic closure so either coming in or going out we HAVE to use our hands and duck our head. Best under $50.00 purchase on Amazon! 😁 Nice job on your trailer.

Try using a tension system for a garage door on both side to help raise and lower the bed . Another option would be four linear actuators to help raise and lower the bed then you could just flip a switch.

Lovely trailer to RV conversion. It's designed really nice and practical, too. I adore the extra bunk bed layout and build, very ingenious, anf it looks very safe and sturdy. It's great the way these conversions are put together so much better than RVs that virtually start falling apart before you leave the dealer's lot. Really well done!

I struggled to carry that tank when it was full and it would splash while dumping. A homemade compost toilet would be easier to dump because it's light and doesn't splash. Just build a plywood box with a hinged top that has a hole cut in it with a toilet seat mounted to the top. Drop a 5 gallon bucket in the box. Use cheap pine pellets for odor and moisture control. 1 scoop for pee and 2 scoops for poop. Dump in the woods or bury. The pine pellet horse bedding turns into saw dust when it gets wet. Good for cat litter too.

I haven't done it yet but I'm going to attach maybe some beads or some colored strings or something from the door opening that will hang down in front of my eyes. This may help me notice them and remind me not to step up and hit my head. Just a thought, it might work.

DUDE!!! Our beds were done almost exactly the same. I used 3/4" wood and 4" high density foam with 100% waterproof camo over it. I'm a deer hunter. LOL. Mine is permanently attached to the wood though. I also have to pop my table to get it apart and I also have to squeeze the middle 2 cushions because of how tight I made it. I will be making a video soon and posting on KZbin as I am almost done with my van build. Hopefully you see it someday and you will see what I mean about our beds. Great minds think alike!!!
