Family Drive Off A Bridge | Chicago Fire

Severide gets put into a difficult situation following a call when a car drives off an overpass. Criminal charges are filed and this is classified as a murder/suicide rather than an accident.

@@frnnzy_ She actually had no evidence what so ever. She just wanted full custody. Murder suicide off a short overpass you don't leave your kid safely strapped in the car seat. If he had threatened it I would understand but from what she made it sound like she just wanted full custody. She literally said he said "I can't live without Mason" and then "my lawyer tried to use as grounds to get full custody"....wtf that's so messed up. I bet tons of mothers would say the same thing in court and it would be grounds for them to keep custody so why knowing their son means a lot to him would she try to get full custody. She made the kid with him you gotta share. Also sorry I'm ranting but it happens irl all the time and trust me the other parent will do anything to make the other look bad even if it's false accusing them of attempted murder or abuse or neglect

Mother was spiteful. The father's first word was Mason meaning that he cared more about his son's health than his own while the mother paid no attention to the father's health. The father was willing to die in his son's place by refusing to be the focus of the scene.

Not really. She was right to be concerned given the history. People who have attempted and survived often feel remorse, especially when somebody else have been involved, so his reaction on scene is understandable. Yet, it doesn't make him innocent. In my country there was a real case of nasty divorce, where the woman would break down and have episodes many times, she would say things like that and no on took it seriously. Until one day she packs the kids in the car and drives into a truck on the highway. They all died. This could have been prevented, if they had taken her condition and actions seriously.

@@shannons7101 Yes, I know they ask questions based on name, date and location to gather cognitive ability and possible head injuries. I've just never heard a paramedic that I've worked with or ridden with ever ask a patients surname like that in the show. It was a plot point for the reveal of the show, I get that, it's just not how any medic I've ever ridden with or met on scene has ever asked their patient first thing (as opposed to injuries or number of people involved, which is by far more important than the patients surname, we already know he's responsive and breathing).
