He was working on a project at the time anyway and said Jonathan was glad both of them were going to turn it down. Billy did a spot-on impersonation of Jonathan saying, "Family Feud? Dickie Dawson! I think that Asian actor didn't know any better. Richard (in so many words) did make sure to let him know his answer was not a Kosher one (even back in the early Eighties). The real question is who came up with that topic, and who authorized it to be used on the show? Definitely one of the worst and most bizarre questions in F/F history.

Since I love watching Family Feud. My son in law’s grandfather Poncie Ponce Hawaiian eye was famous actor, singer, Hawaiian’s fave. This was 1961-1963 tv episode. I met him..such a nice guy, very charming and adorable. He passed away 5 yrs. ago. RIP.

Then she went on a talk show to attempt to clear her name and the embarrassment. Different era. Dawson came across as the debonair lounge guy, a throwback to The Rat Pack of the mid Sixties. What is considered gross by today's standards, was acceptable back then. Nowadays, he would have been hit with a sexual assault / battery charge, then sued civilly for compensation for a host of reasons. Times sure have changed.
