They weren’t wrong in their answers as far as the animal goes. The way he stated the question was misleading. “Name an animal with 3 letters in its name.” Frog and Alligator both have 3 letters in their names. He should have stated, “Name an animal that only has 3 letters in its name.”

Anyone with experience in English should be able to figure out the meaning of the question.
