The Mogilles family, the family behind McHardy’s Chicken and Fixin’, has been frying chicken in New Orleans’ Seventh Ward since 2000 ( • Fried Chicken At A Dis... ). What started from Grandma’s secret fried chicken recipe has evolved into three generations working together under one roof, day in and day out. At the center of it all is Rahman, who single-handedly fries every piece of chicken, along with his two daughters, his mother, and his father. It’s not always easy running a business with family, but the rewards far outweigh the challenges.

The chicken is fantastic and all but wow what a sweet family dynamic. It's crazy to hear the two grandparents come from esteemed backgrounds then choose to work what would usually be perceived as "below their stations". Raising a dutiful son and blessed with a conscientious granddaughter, hope to see them continue to flourish.

New Orleanian here to tell you that in my opinion, this is the best fried chicken not only in New Orleans but in this country. Willie Mae's Scotch House a close second in both respects

That’s good to see! Passion and a simple menu. Serving fried chicken fresh is paramount, so many places batch cook it and just keep it warming for ages and the taste and texture deteriorates so much if it’s just left there. Nothing like fried chicken served straight out the oil and just cool enough to eat.
