they killed off brian for a few episodes, and i think they intended for it to be permanant but they got so much backlash they brought him back claiming "it was only temporary" riiiight lol

It was never intended to be permanent. It takes a year for episodes to go from a script to airing. The Vinnie arc was for 3 episodes only.

@@garyhall2770 You're acting like they couldn't have just completely scrapped what they had or just change anything that was for Vinny to Brian. Some tweaks can easily fix it. Personally I don't buy the bullshit reasoning behind why they did it. Apparently it was to do with teaching a "lesson", which I'm sorry but the show has some of the cheapest gags going, its easy entertainment there are little to know life lessons. That being said I specifically remember the writers and Seth coming out and saying things like they were surprised at the amount of backlash and didn't expect there to be so much anger. For me this exposes the fact that this wasn't just something that was trying to grab extra viewers and wasn't something that was going to be temporary. Also the idea that they tried doing it to gain ratings doesn't make sense either because it's playing with fire. It either works or it blows up in your face. As it happens I believe about a season worth of episodes after the episode in question the happened the ratings started to decline. I know Vinny existed for a while but I don't know how many episodes. The start of the next season had their largest rating in some time, so I assume this is when Brian came back. I'm sure there are more reasons as to why the viewership dropped but I feel this definitely contributed.

​@@Kyle_Hubbard It's family guy. They do things like this for fun. What do you mean "some tweaks could easily fix it"? They would have to reanimate the episodes.. The whole season was already finished. Brian coming back had nothing to do with fan reactions. It was a gag/christmas special from the beginning. Seth Mcfarlane even said "We'd have to be f***ing high to kill off Brian".

I remember after they brought back Brian, they did an episode where he was not featured at all (maybe they wrote it while he was dead). At the end of the episode they had a message saying something like "Brian wasn't featured in this episode and you didn't even noticed!" trolling viewers for the so called "backlash"

Nope. In reality Vinnie was a 3 episode arc before Brian was brought back. The episodes take 8 months to animate. It had nothing to do with backlash.
