Well in answer to your question, Peter does have a job. In the current season and for the past several seasons Peter has been working at the local Pawtucket Brewery company. I don't recall His exact title or if it's ever been mentioned on screen but Peter has a very flexible job plan which allows him to absent from work so he can indulge himself and the audience in his weekly shenanigans without the threat of being fired. Before the Brewery Peter was employed by a toy company (the same flexible schedule) before it was turned into the current brewery company. In one episode Peter and his friends bathed in a vat of beer (after hours of course) Ewwwwwwww! As for Cleveland, during the early seasons on the show Cleveland owned a Deli. After the Cleveland character got his own show and moved to Virginia, he became a cable installer at the local cable company and coincidentally Cleveland also had a flexible job arrangement that allowed him to be absent from work 90% of the time. Once the Cleveland show was cancelled and the character returned to Quahog with family Cleveland became a mailman. You guessed it the same flexible job arrangement for Cleveland AGAIN but nothing compares to Peter's generous job schedule. LOL!
