When my younger brother and I were little, we lived at a house where there were raccoons living underneath our back deck. Our mom told us that yes, they were very cute, but that they were wild animals and we couldn't pet them, as they would bite off our toes and eat them if we got too close. My mom heard screaming one day and, going outside, saw my younger brother at the back door, trying to get in but couldn't because he was too short, and the fluffiest, sweetest-looking baby raccoon sitting at his feet, just watching, as he jumped up at down, trying to ensure the little thing wouldn't eat his toes.
