Saw them in ‘69 and ‘70 in my home town of Sunderland. They were a fantastic live band.

I bought this on 7 inch vinyl single in 71 still play it now always loved this band and Roger Chapmans distinctive vocals .

Leicester lad.... we all went to see "our" band when they toured, they always played at Leicester's DeMontfort Hall.... they were a great live band. They were often seen on terraces at Filbert Street.

Some of todays so called groups should be made to listen to this.From a bygone time when bands could play instruments!(quite a few were classically or jazz trained)

Family are a fabulous group..completely unique, Chapman and Whitney loved the blues, but they managed to subvert it and bring to the party jazz, pop, psych rock and a crazy eccentricity that stood them apart from other contemporaries.

I don't think it's Rob - nice try with the dark glasses though! he must have been unavailable and they got a stand-in for this shoot.

Townsend was absent form a "Beat-Club" taping two weeks earlier. I think he'd been bitten by a dog, or so Uschi Nerke explained on "Beat-Club."
