FAMILY OF 13 - GROCERY HAUL 🍅🥑 NYC 🗽 COSTCO & TRADER JOE'S (INFLATION IS GETTING CRAZY! 😭)

Meal plan below ⬇️ Weekly grocery haul for our family of 13 in NYC. We shop at Costco & Trader Joe's on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. (Our Costco is in Harlem and our Trader Joe's is on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.) We bring Anna (11), Chloe (9), Enoch (7), Melody (5), Moses (2) and Neta (6 months).
Here is our meal plan:
Wednesday: Chilaquiles, Dinner: Chile & Baguette
Thursday: Ham & Cheese Pinwheels w/ strawberries, Dinner: Indian Meal (Ground beef, Potatoes & Peas)
Friday: Baked Potatoes w/ bacon, lettuce & tomato, Dinner: Mirin Chicken
Saturday: Sandwiches, Juice & Chips, Dinner: Burritos
Sunday: Chipotle, Dinner: Nachos
Monday: Tuna Sandwiches, Dinner: Minestrone Soup & Baguette
Tuesday: Beans & Mexican Rice, Dinner: Hot Dogs at Costco w/ salad

Groceries are just crazy priced. We live in a rural area in Florida and each week something jas gone up, sometimes considerably. When you have to add in diapers, wipes, paper products and toiletries it adds up fast. Occasionally everything seems to run out at once. I'm just glad you can get what you need and some of what you like as a treat.

Only a suggestion, buy your onions, potatoes in the bags. Its much less expensive than buying individual onions and potatoes. Also, variety is nice for meals, but if you made more casseroles, soups, crockpot meals with less specialized individual meals, it would save money. Make your own pizza dough, pasta/pizza sauce. Cold pasta salads with fresh veggies keeps in the fridge for a couple of days, great for quick lunches and taking on the go.

If you guys want good quality produce go to Fairway Market. I think they are on 72nd street in Manhattan. I used to work there and they have good prices on the veggies. Also if you buy a box of kombucca I still believe they give out 10% on bulk items

Y’all might want to think about getting a big freezer and putting it downstairs and filling it up with a cow a pig and so on go half maybe with a family member to cut cost. Continue making your own bread and your own flatbread and growing your vegetable garden and learning how to can. I know you’ve got a lot on your plate. Maybe the kids can learn how to do this so that you have a back up supply downstairs, just in case.

peppers are my specialty I grow all year where I live in southern nv only it's already 113°+so about 90°Temps they slow down n sometimes stop producing chili's I do serranos jalapeños pablano thai n arbol chilis

U need to try Walmart or Aldi. Costco is actually an expensive place to shop. U could do a 2 week shop maybe on a weekend over to the Walmart closest.just try somewhere else and see how surprised u are.

Yes! Our closest Walmart is in NJ and we have to drive 45 minutes each way and pay $25 on the bridge but I would love to do a stock up haul there of non perishable items!

Im a worry bug also….Doc says for her to do activities as she sees fit…….I think she is trying to prove something to herself and her family ….she def has the fear of missing out, her gait is still strained. My opinion. How bout a lil carriage for Mo and Netta and even Melody……this would be doable I believe. Walking around NYC without limitations is hard……but doing this with a little boy playing horsey back on his sister’s back …. Not too safe. 💕

Oh wow, so y’all started a vegetable garden I am so happy to hear that!😮 you are so blessed to have your husband. He is such a help to you in the store grocery shopping cooking and so forth and I know you are an awesome woman too. He’s got a beautiful wife, a beautiful mom. Please show us your garden?🪴 potatoes are very easy to plant and grow. You can put them in a clothes hamper type of thing the plastic thing and grow them or can grow them in a paper bag can grow them anywhere. That little Moe is the cutest little thing! He’s so adorable! He’s such a little man and he’s smart! whenever the kids get out of school or they come to a time that it gets quieter in their life, it would be great if the girls could learn how to can like making sauces.. soups and canned them up and that way y’all have the stuff you can put downstairs for your storage area and start doing some canning of the staple foods that y’all normally buy and it gets expensive. I’m sure but I know your family is very busy but be great if they had time to do that every now and then. hey, it’s important that dad gets the foods that he likes too! i’m sorry, your wife can’t be there!😢 you have such a beautiful, cute little wife, and on top of that all those kids that she has given birth to wow look at that figure! And she’s just adorable and sweetest can be! You are blessed!! how is your daughter doing making her sourdough bread now? Does she have a chance to make it very often? Praise the Lord that God is blessing your family where you can buy this food and keep your family healthy just having healthy food having the love of God and your family having unity and everybody working together no amount of money can buy your family is very, very blessed. You would LOVE living near me. We have a fabulous market for fruit and vegetables; a butcher who "grows" his own beef and a fishmonger. We walk up the road to buy eggs from ducks called Meggy, Bethany, Lois and Delia. Finally we can buy fresh raw milk from our local milking parlour which is within walking distance. We can meet the cows and their herd comprises of Grandmas, daughters, grand-daughters. Everything is organic.

@TheHappyCaravan thank you. It really is lovely. We can even fuss the cows. They're like big puppies and play and gamble all over the field. Today, fourteem of them escaped. Mark was demented running about trying to get them to come home. In the end the naughty cows had to be trailered home. At least the farmer had plenty of raw organic milk to drink!! Your children would have laughed to see the cows cheerfully muching blooms in the gardens. Xx
